  • Re: Best ESR meter/What to look for

I work in the aviation industry where every piece of test equipment either large or small needs to be regularly calibrated to a known very high standard. With this in mind I bought a Peak meter for my own use (mainly to check caps in place that do not look obviously bad) and to check this cheaper meter so that I can recommend it when I re-sell it if it is accurate.

I have a "Peak" esr meter and find it good to use. I have a cheaper one - but not as cheap as the one you are looking at MK - and I can compare the two.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi, I'm ("phildan") phil, from PUKEKOHE, AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND; soon to be made redundant from Air New Zealand, (which even though I'm sore at the moment) is a growing, top class Airline!

In the past I've had computers and LCD tvs go bottoms up, and although I do electrical work have not felt confident to repair. I am now starting to repair them. I've got some basic test equipment,,,, DVM, ESR Meter, Insulation Tester, Transistor Tester Oscilloscope etc., more than the avionics guys have got at work!...
