Re: Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 blinks - ebay SC repair?
Looks like I'm good too! Got my board back from Moduslink PTS. I highly recommend them for board repairs (granted this is my only one I ever did with them). However that being said I received my SC board approx a week and half after I mailed it out. Board came back with great packing, and when I e-mailed them 2 days ago asking about the status they responded within 2 hours.
Needless to say I attached the board and did the isolation test with the SC50 jumper and the tv powered on with a black screen (good sign). I...

Re: Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 blinks - ebay SC repair?
I put the order in to have my SC board repaired by ModusLink PTS. I will ship it out tommorrow and will report back in a week with my findings. I tested for shorts on the SU and SD boards by placing the red MM connection on the ground and doing the "zipper" test at the ribbon connections with the black probe and no beeps. As Tom mentioned above I don't think there are MOSFETS on my SU and SD and looking at pics of what MOSFETS generally look like I didn't see any.
I will post back in a week or so when...

@electronicsurplus, thanks for the tip on testing the buffer boards, I believe Tom mentions this as well and even has a youtube video. Although I wasn't aware to test the Mosfet on the SU and SD. What does it look like or where is located?

Re: Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 blinks - ebay SC repair?
Hey Appazolini, yes please let us know how it goes. I was contemplating using that ebay seller because they were also very responsive to my e-mail questions and he had good feedback as well as the best price.
Though I am also leaning towards ModusLink because they have gotten a lot of good feedback from this forum. (Just do a search for ModusLink to see what people had to say). This whole experience sucks in general as I only bought my Plasma back in July 2011.

Re: 55 inch Plasma Viera (VIERA TC-P55GT30) not turning on. 7 blinking red lights.
apazzolini, I started another thread here:

Do the SC50 jumper test mentioned in this thread to determine if it is SC or the other 2 cards attached to it. Also you can test the SC2 connection on the SC card with a multimeter to see if it is shorted.
I did this test after doing the SC50 test and that just reconfirmed the SC card...

Re: Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 blinks - ebay SC repair?
One of the ebay sellers mentioned that if I had a short on the SC2 connection then the board was bad. Can anyone verify this? I set my MM to continuity test and I touched it to both prongs on the SC2 connection (the board is out of the TV now) and sure enough heard the beep.
Thanks.

Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 blinks - ebay SC repair?
I've been reading through this thread:
Helpful Stuff!!!
And am thankful to Tom and tw2005 for all their documentation and skills!
So my question is has anyone used, or has an opinion on using an ebay repair service to fix my SC board instead of buying one? Found one that would do it for 80 bucks with shipping or should I just buy from Panasonic for 180 (ouch).
I am a little hesitant on buying a used one on ebay because I don't know the history of the card I would...

Re: 55 inch Plasma Viera (VIERA TC-P55GT30) not turning on. 7 blinking red lights.
Hi,
Thank goodness I found this thread. I bought my P55GT30 back in July 2011 and love the TV. I want to ask this because before I try all the different steps mentioned in this thread I wanted to see if I have the right symptoms. Basically a couple weeks ago I would notice that as I switched channels I would see some weird ghost images around the edges of my screen. They were static images of a previous channel. I thought nothing of it and ussually turning the TV off an on would fix it. I...
