Re: ASUS VE247 Help
Well I decided to try to fix this monitor again so I can use it soon. I got it out and tested cap c606 and got 14.7vdc. I also tested all the wires going to the logic board and got 5.02vdc on the red wires, 5.01vdc on the orange wires, 3.29vdc on the green wire, and 3.21 on the white wire. Could it be a problem with the logic board now? Here are some pictures of what it does, and I have a video I can upload too if anyone wants me too.

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
Well it worked fine for a month and now I'm having problems again. I was using it yesterday and lines started to appear and it froze up, and then it kept working for a few seconds and then it went to a white screen and stopped. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Could anyone help me figure this out? It seems like maybe the logic board isn't getting enough power and its shutting off. Today I hooked it up again and now its been working fine. If it happens again ill try to get some pictures of what it is doing.

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
Well I finally got the IC in, replaced the old one and everything is working so far. I've been using it for an hour or 2 and so far it is working great, thank you budm for your help. Hopefully that IC was the cause of the original problem too.

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
So would it be ok to replace it with something like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Piece-SANKEN-STRW6262-STR-W6262-TO220-IC-Chip-/190711871723Re: ASUS VE247 Help

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
Well I doubt its the cap, since I have already replaced it, so could I replace the IC with this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Piece-SANKEN-STRW6262-STR-W6262-TO220-IC-Chip-/190711871723 Could the IC failing been a cause of my original problems? It did something similar to what the monitor in this video that I found in another thread did. Re: ASUS VE247 Help
I got .7-.8 Ohms on R615 and 67.4k Ohms on R607. I checked the diode and got 67k Ohms. I did replace C606, C704 and C703 just to see if it would help, and in the picture it looks bad but the black is just from the desoldering braid I used, Its actually not that bad. I had originally ordered new capacitors because I figured that was the problem, and then it just completely stopped turning on. I still replaced those 3 but that was after it had already stopped working, so that was not the cause.Last edited by aarynb1; 12-06-2013, 11:11 PM.

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
I had everything except the speakers and the sound board plugged in, but it still dosen't work even if i plug them in. I checked the connectors going to the logic board and it is getting no power, and the monitor does not power on at all anymore.
Thanks.

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
How would you check the transformer I circled? I tried to check it and I got 170v on one side, and 0v on the other, but im not sure if I did it right.

What should I check next? I double checked and the logic board is still getting no power, all the components look good.

Re: ASUS VE247 Help
Ok, I got a new battery for my meter today and checked again. I still got 170vdc while it was plugged in, and 44vdc while it was unplugged, is it possible the cap is bad?
