Re: Yet another victim of Antec! Q about cap replacement or RMA
To be honest OST now seems better than they used to be - I'm still disappointed when I see them though, also, as for pricing, the particular failed TruePower 380 pictured cost me 40 quid excluding vat, which is about AU$97 >(...

Re: Yet another victim of Antec! Q about cap replacement or RMA
I sent in trouble ticket to Antec EU and got an instant canned response saying to fill out an RMA form and such.
Clearly no real person read my email. I'm not sure where AntecRep gets the idea that we might have got a real response...

Re: Yet another victim of Antec! Q about cap replacement or RMA
Just to confirm I'm not making some shit up (as AntecRep would clearly have us believe)...
Also, there is never a question of overheating or overloading, haha, this thing was running a Pentium III 667 with a handful of hard drives, Antec SLK-3000B case, 120mm fans front and back, the fans on the psu were always spinning at the lowest rate

Re: Yet another victim of Antec! Q about cap replacement or RMA
I would have put good money on my shiny Antec TruePower 380w being the cause of one of my machine's stability, so much so that - warranty be damned, the top is coming off.
I just took cover off, what do I see? oh shock horror, vented Fuhjyyu caps, what a goddamn surprise.
I am frankly appalled by Antec, and seeing as all of my power supplies are Antec (I only wish this wasn't true) I will simply never recommend anything Antec again.
It's a shame, seeing as you make fantastic...

Re: Wanted: Internal pictures & capacitor list in Seasonic S12+ 650W PSU
Don't buy it, buy the Corsair HX620 instead.
It's pretty much the same price as far as I've seen, and it's really a Seasonic S12, but with the following perks:
5 year warranty instead of 3 year
modular cabling
the caps are as follows:
hitachi primary
nippon chemi-con secondaries
it's rated at 620w @ 50c constant

Foxit PDF Viewer is better than Adobe Reader, by the way.

Re: Abit AI7....
I have an Abit AI7, infact, this is my second.
My first had united chemi-con and rubycon, this second, all rubycon.
The first only failed because of my stupidity, I accidentally scratched a track that lead to the RAM.. with a screw.
I'm happy with the board, but ocz ram running in dual channel gives me instabilities, but my old, random assortment of RAM ran fully stable even at much overclocked FSBs.

Re: Caps in Antec PSU
Why do Antec use such trash? I know they're in my Antec TrueBlue 480 as well, and that cost a hell of a lot of money for a PSU.
I can understand it in the cheap PSUs but really, don't they want a good reputation? Isn't that worth a couple of cents?

Re: dell Optiplex gx280
The Maxtor drives are the only big mistake Dell initially made, they went with Nichicon in good faith, I can't really blame them for that.
They're rubycons now, and seagates or western digital drives as far as I know, so everything's chill.

Re: Fake Rubycon caps?
Now that's dedication, I admire your curious spirit.
We've seen copies before (Rulycon) that tried to fake it, but these are really trying to come off as counterfeit ones.
Shouldn't people be looking into these sorts of things? Damn. This can't be good at all for Rubycon if it happens on a huge scale, and maybe they need to hear about it.

You're probably long gone now but I believe it's only the HM(M) series that trouble. At least that's what I recall.

ABIT boards seem good these days
I know this obvious, but I thought I'd post anyhow.
The last two AI7 boards I've had, one of them was United chemi-con & Rubycon, and the newest was all Rubycon.
It seems they've kept good to their word still, which is good. It'll only do them well in the long run!

TriGem.com are the guys who made your board, as Willawake suggested tentatively.
I read the company history on the site, and they are the OEM for eMachines.
hp Pavilion is a very similar type of machine, and it's ultra feasible that they made your board.
