He never mention SMD.
What he did mention was all the boards done in Mexico with wave soldering.

My teacher was a 6'2 250lbs US NAVY technician (there is no such thing ex-navy).
If he was wrong I was not the one to correct him

Hi to all!
When I was in technical school my teacher always told us that whenever we encounter any electronics device to be repair that is assembled in Mexico to always start re soldering the components because of the poor solder between components and board.
For my limited experience i can say it's mostly true.
Any thoughts on this. -
