When watching my tv via HDMI random white vertical lines on the left side of the screen flicker or flash briefly and then go away for awhile. It's very sporadic. Other times when I turn the tv on there are some black vertical lines the remain on the left side of the screen. If I turn the tv off for awhile then turn it back on they aren't there.
What part could possibly be going wrong? Y-Buffer?

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
I replaced the parts and the TV is now working. I'm not to sure how to go about doing the firmware upgrade. The model # of the tv I have is not found on the Samsung website. I must need to use an actual Samsung model #, not the Insignia model #?

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
It's been awhile, been busy with other things. I got around to ordering a new Y-Main board for this tv. If I install that one board for now will I be able to see if that fixes anything or do I need to wait an install the new Y-Main, Y-buffer, and X-main all at the same time?

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Oops, this whole time I didn't realize I had entered in the 50" model. I have the 42" model, Insignia NS-42P650A11. So the parts should be right now that I corrected my mistake?

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Just to verify these are the parts I'd need.

http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn96-13067a-x-main-board.htm (they say a firmware update is needing to be applied to help avoid having this part fail) You familiar with this?

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Thanks so much! If I start by replacing the Y-main and Y-buffer only and the tv works. Would I be in danger of harming those new boards as well if the X-main goes out later on?
I'll take a look at that smaller board and order some parts.

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
I tested each diode and transistor on the x-main with alternating probes and none of theme went to 0.000 although one diode did get to 0.001.

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Ok I was able to get a working multimeter.
Multimeter being used and set to the appropriate settings per pic I believe.

I was able to get the board out without any issues. I started testing each diode from left to right at each screw location. (8 of them)

The transistor marked in your image gives me 0.000 when the probes are applied alternating. The diode as pictured...

Awesome. Thanks so much for your guidance on this. I'll work on it tomorrow when I get a functioning meter and report back.

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
What is the secret to detaching the Y-main from these connectors? I don't want to break anything by applying to much pressure. Can the readings be taken with the board attached?

Looks like I'll have to take the readings tomorrow as the multimeter I borrowed seems to be broke. Goodness.Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
I disconnected the Y-main and plugged it back in. The tv seems to boot up. No clicking or anything. I don't have this hooked up to anything so I can't confirm sound, but the screen does not have picture.

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
I disconnected the X-Main from the Y-Main and plugged it back in. I received the same results of three clicks and then nothing. The red light stayed illuminated afterwards on the front.

Should I disconnect the Y-Main now and try again? That would mean both X-main and Y-main are disconnected.
I'll have to see if I can get my hands on a voltage meter tonight. When I got this tv the person I received it...Last edited by blobula; 11-09-2013, 05:53 PM.

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Thanks for the response. Yes, I believe I'll need some additional instructions on this.
So the Y-main is the board on the left attached to the PSU in the middle. The X-main is the board on the far right attached to the PSU.
If I disconnect the X-main from the Y-main and PSU and the clicking stops what does that indicate to me? That the X-main is bad? If the clicking doesn't stop and I can't reconnect the X-main do I then disconnect the Y-main from the PSU?

Re: Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Here is some information very similar to my problem. Very well could be the same thing.
Perhaps this may help someone else.

Insignia NS-50P650A11 clicks
Hello,
I don't have a lot of knowledge about how to diagnose the issue, but I'm certainly capable with direction.
I see there was a similar thread, but I didn't see a resolution posted.
I have an Insignia NS-50P650A11 that when I turn it on it trys to power on 3 times (3 clicks) then stops. I've been told it's a problem with the main power supply.
I believe it to be this part here:
Samsung BN44-00329B Power Supply Unit
How should I test to ensure? Has anyone with this particular model experienced this problem?...Last edited by blobula; 11-08-2013, 05:09 PM.

Re: Insignia N8-42P650A11 multiple clicks, will not power on
Was there a resolution to this? I'm having the same exact issue on this tv.
Is this the correct part to order?
