• Re: PSU powering two mobos?

OMG, thank you for that link. Not just for the PSU side, but I never thought about getting the spacer, and double stacking mobos like that. That's just so simple, and beautifully perfect. I absolutely love it.

But I already have my case And these are specifically intended to be caseless. Can you imagine those machines cooking in cases in my garage here in South Texas? I already almost feel sorry for them.Re: PSU powering two mobos?

While we are on the subject of flux, what are ya'lls feelings towards liquid flux? Onboard the ship, and in my wiring mods I do, I've always used it, considering it so much more useful that the paste form.

  • Re: Firefox and Broadband users, READ THIS!!

Do you have another hd available? One good way to increase performance is to use a seperate partition for stuff like that (Photoshop scratch disk, Windows pagefile, temp folders, and cache directories). Not to mention, you could increase the size of your cache in Firefox, and it wouldn't incurr the performance hit on your OS drive....

  • PSU powering two mobos?

I'm just considering alternatives for the machines in my crack rack. It would be great to have two mobos powered off of one PSU. These are all lower power machines (p3 class), and I could solder the start switches to "turn on" both at the same time. If it isn't, no big deal. I just thought I'd ask, and I haven't found anything regarding this while searching here.

I'm still searching for a power usage chart of p3 processors, so I'm not sure how much juice they are pulling, but I'd like to see if it would be...

Not to mention it makes a great cruncher for DC projects. I'm working on getting a few more dual P3's for my crack rack. Would love to have a quad on their.

  • Re: Dual PSUs make your life easier

I've been running dual PSUs for a long time (Seasonic S12's 600 & 500), and a mobo for both would be great. Too bad it doesn't have PCI-X (not PCIe). I'm content with my power setup now though. After killing several Enermax's, I finally went this route. And it's been wonderful so far. PSU1 power the mobo & video card. PSU2 powers the HD enclosures, fans, and lights. Doing this allows me to add as many hard drives as I can fit into this beast.
