Panasonic lcd tv blink codes
I have a Panasonic tx-58ax802b the tv fails to start and gives 6 red blinks. if i keep trying the tv will come on, sometimes after a few presses sometimes a lot more, it's completely random. if the set was on all day and you turn it off at the wall it does the same thing. if i set 'usb charging power on' in the menu, and turn the tv off it will come straight back on again. the usb power timer lasts for 5 hours then the tv will power right down and be hard to turn on again. does anyone know what the problem is?

shorted panel
i had this samsung lcd with a shorted panel T500HVN01.3
one side works ok with the other side ribbon removed, the bad side was making the t-con buzz loudly and taking the pic out.
i put the ribbon in but not clamped down, and touched along it to try to find out where the short was.
it turned out just the end few pins are causing the problem. at first i put a piece of paper under the ribbon but then i cut a piece off the ribbon, it needed to be just the right number of pins to make the pic come up. it has some thin horizontal lines across the entire screen but are not visible...Last edited by efwiofoi; 02-04-2017, 04:41 PM.

Re: lg 47LW450U
i think they are but will double check. the funny thing is the change is in time not random, its exaclty 3 seconds dim, 3 seconds brighter. something is controlling it it seems, but what could cause it to do that.

Re: lg 47LW450U
ive noticed that there are some lines on the screen when its in the darker mode, so its looking like a panel problem or something similar.
the panel is a lc470euf(sd)(f2) and the new board came from lc470euf(sd)(p1)
would that be enough to cause compatibility issues?

lg 47LW450U
i have an lg 47LW450U lcd, ive replaced the main board after the old one was apparently damaged by a spark between the hdmi port and a laptop hdmi cable.
the new board is working but every 2 to 3 seconds the brightness of the screen changes, dimm bright dim bright continuosly. its only a slight change and either setting would be ok if it stayed on one. ive reset the picture and settings. its doing this on any input or with no input connected. its like either the backlight level is changing or the screen contrast or brightness setting is changing, i think it is the screen setting...

Re: LG 50PZ550T 50 inch plasma
i think its the y sus board, the tv stays on all day with the back off but heating this board seems to make it go off. tapping makes no difference. i think i will replace the board but it has 4 adjusters (set_up), (set_on), +vy +vsc, could adjusting any of those help?

LG 50PZ550T 50 inch plasma
I have an lg 50PZ550T 50 inch 3d plasma, it works normally for 2 hours then turns off. when it goes off the red light does not come back on, if i switch it off with the remote the light comes on and it will turn back on and work for half an hour again.
I've taken the back off but not sure what to do next having only ever fixed lcds.
everything looks good no bulging caps.
should i test voltages?
the picture is perfect when working.
thanks

philips psu 40pfl5605h delta dps206cp
i am trying to repair this psu which the previous owner has removed two components from and lost them, he promised to find them and send them but it doesn't look like thats going to happen.
I've found a shorted diode which hopefully is the only fault if i can undo the other damage.
the missing transistors are q601a and q601b
does any one have this psu or the circuit diagram?
Thanks

sanyo ce32ld47-b hdcp copy protection
i have a sanyo ce32ld47-b 32 inch lcd, everything works but when i plug my hd freeview box into either hdmi port it comes up copy protection hdcp, a problem occured with the configuration of the hdcp link (the message itself comes from the freeview box). the sound and menus work. i also tried it with a playstation 3, and got no picture.

it seems a strange fault, could the tv be set to the wrong region or something?

Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines
another one for the scrap heap
it kind of fits better now they started putting the tcon underneath, leaving it thinner at the top, but many more unrepairable tvs, as its common to get something spilled on the screen.
they are never going to bother sealing it, it might cause problems as well due to a small amount of movement needed for thermal expansion.
bad news for lcd's

Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines
it got on one of the ribbons, after cleaning there is a little black dot between two gold pins where the ribbon bonds to the pcb. in two minds whether to try another tcon, i think i might leave it.
bit of a step backwards putting the ribbons at the lower edge

Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines
i bought a new tcon, connected it up without the screen ribbons and measured +28v on vgh and -5 on vgl.
as soon as i powered it up with the ribbons connected there was a burning smell from the tcon. the voltages are back to around -0.7 again.
i took the panel out and removed the bezel to see the boards that are bonded to the screen. nothing much to see except one is sticky. looking at the edge of the panel something has been spilled on the screen and run down onto the left board (panel is mounted upside down). it looks like...

Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines
ok
thanks for the help. what voltage should vgl and vgh be?

Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines
with the ribbon near them out they are the same (vgl -0.97 vgh -0.73). with the other ribbon out only, vgl is -1.56 and vgh is -0.73
with both ribbons disconnected: vgl is -1.56 and vgh is -0.73

Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines

the left most one (vcomrfb?) is 5.61v and vcom is 5.61
z out is 5.8Last edited by efwiofoi; 01-18-2014, 02:48 PM.

there is 11.85v on the main fuse.
what else can i check?
the main board has a jumper that sets either 5 or 12v for the tcon

i can get the tcon on ebay, £20Re: Logik l423ed11 vertical lines

Logik l423ed11 vertical lines
i have a logik l423ed11 42inch lcd, the picture shows a vertical line that moves from left to right, i think it's the 'no signal' logo which is moving about. if i press menu a wider pattern comes up in the middle.

any ideas what this would be, panel / main board / tcon?
