I had two Philips today. One had similar symptoms to yours. I recovered the picture by blocking pins 3 to 14 on the left hand ribbon with a piece of Sellotape 7mm wide.
The second one had lines appearing across the picture and the same method cured that one too.

A clean score with a sharp stanley knife works for me. I just snap it off at the table edge. Works every time.
The score has to be constant.

Anytime I switched the edges around it only resulted in the light illuminating the edge where the leds are.

Re: Removing screens
I cut a credit card in an L shape so it can slip past the raised areas of the bevel.
I also grease the surface of the card with wd40 so it wont reglue as it flattens behind me

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I've been a TV Tech for 40 odd years. Now I repair just for extra income. I was looking for close up pics of a Panasonic PSU Board. I had taken MC201 & MC301 off the board thinking they were the same until I discovered the difference. I searched the net and your forum was the only place I found side views of the daughterboards. I'm not much of a forum user but if I've anything useful to add then I'll post.
Regards
