Re: Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 blinks - ebay SC repair?
See if these guys have the board you need, they are a 'real' component level repair business: ModusLink PTS, Inc.
I got my sc board from them and it's working fine so far, (fingers crossed).

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
I have sent them an email about buying my bad boards, I'm sure hoping they will buy them or at least take them for reuse. The SD and SU really measured close to right (resistance checks) except the 5V_F measured high but the board that worked measured the same. So whatever was wrong with them didn't really seem to show up with resistance checks on the SC41/42 test points. The good part about that was I wasn't as worried about turning the TV on and trying it, I knew they were not shorted.Last edited by rmalbers; 11-15-2013, 05:36 PM.

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
I want to update this thread for others. I knew from running thru the steps here that I had a bad SC card and could actually see one blown resister. I was finding a number of other bad parts so I was thinking by the time I found a source for the parts and tried to get them soldered into place, well, I was worried about the time involved and my chances for success! So, I bought an SC board from: ModusLink PTS, Inc. for $104 shipped. I had checked the SU and SD card for shorts and they were not shorted so I fired up the TV with the new SC card and...

Re: Panasonic G20 Failure :/
You are right, it's rare that people have the setup to test but there are some that do, like this place:

(I'm don't work for them or anything, I'm just saying if you look at this and compare with others (like you are talking about), there is a huge difference.)Re: Panasonic G20 Failure :/<br /> ...rds.com/[/url]...Last edited by rmalbers; 11-15-2013, 01:19 PM.

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
It is the SU and SD cards (at least on p54G25). Download the doc (google it) that I referred to in the previous post and all the measurements are in it on slide 43, all the test points and readings are listed. (at least for that version of panny)

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
It looks like I've got a bad SD and SU card. I thought they were ok but I discovered I was measuring them wrong when doing the resistance measurements. I was looking at the Panasonic 2010 -FHD Plasma TV troubleshooting Handbook and on slide 43 they talk about 'using VF-Ground' as the reference when doing the resistance measurement (I was using chassis ground). I got different results that way with VFO showing short on both boards. I just discovered this so I'm going to 'review' it some more but I thought I would get this out here for others. (Maybe...

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
Does anyone have any theories on what causes the SC board to blow components? Would a surge protector help, might it be something coming over the AC power line? What I getting at is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks, got it:
I've been on that site before for other stuff but didn't know they had this.

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
Where are you guys getting the schematics for this board? Is it something you can share by any chance? I want to make sure that I find/test every part related to the bad parts I find.

Re: Panasonic sc tnpa5081 rebuild
I think I've got most of the same components bad in my 54G25 (also three years old when it quit this summer), at least in my initial checking. My problem is I'm not sure I can solder/replace these tiny little components, this stuff is crazy small. There is a hole in R551 in mine!...
