  • Samsung PN50C7000YF rows of white dots in 3d

    Hi,
I have a Samsung PN50C7000YF that I picked up that would hang during power up. Troubleshot to main (Jumper to check Logic board test patterns was OK). Sourced used one and now TV powers up fine and everything was looking good untill...I tried 3d. I'm getting random small horizontal "lines" of white dots out of ONLY the left eye in 3d mode. When watching 2d...or 3d with my left eye closed...the picture is perfect.

I'm not too sure about the 3d architecture, but I'm assuming this can only be that I recieved a defective main...can anyone confirm what could cause...

  • Re: 40" Element LCD ELGFT401 Picture Issues

The cap on my buddy's board also showed no signs of being toast. That's great to hear you were able to fix your tv. I've learned a lot from this messageboard and I'm happy taking the time to post helped at least one person out there. Thanks for sharing your model #...hopefully it helps the next guy with your same model.

  • 40" Element LCD ELGFT401 Picture Issues

    Hi.
Fixed my first TV about 3 months ago and have been hooked ever since. This site has been invaluable. I've now got 7 now-working TVs under my belt (and much bigger TVs than I started with in every room). I've even attempted (and apparently succeeded) at changing out a blown scan driver IC on a plasma buffer board. Hoping I can give a little back with this one since it was a PITA to figure out with no schematics or service docs out there and couldn't find this one in the posts.

This was my friend's Element ELGFT401 that was giving him picture issues. When it was first...

Never did get a reply to this post, but on the off chance this ever helps anyone out there, TV is working perfectly still!

  • I think I fixed my Samsung LN2353H. Anything else I should check?

Hi all. First of all, thanks for this awesome resource. It's a true asset to our internet community.

I have a 23" Samsung LN2353H (supply BN44-00158A) that died one night and would not turn back on. I tried it next day, and it turned on...but only stayed on for a little bit and after that, would only have the blue stby light flash momentarily after plugging in...and do that in a loop every few seconds. Would not power on. I could also hear a high pitch whine coming from the power supply board after the standby light in front flashed back off.

    After much digging...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

I'm Mike...37 yr old from Rochester, NY area. I wanted to say thanks for your site. Found it after deciding to 'experiment' with my in-laws broken 23" Samsung that suddenly stopped working. With the help of the site, I was able to breath life back into it for literally a couple bucks. Isnpired me to pull out my old 37" LCD from the basement that would not stay on for more than 5 min...and get that working again too...and that one was FREE Caps weren't the problem with either, but was still able to get the valuable...
