Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Tom66, begging for some help here. The TV is laying where the Xmas tree needs to go and I really want to get that panel pulled before it has to be moved for fear that it may never see the light of day, haha. But serious. Thanks for the help.

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
And one more from left side showing that there does not appear to be anything under any of these boards unless it is very thin. Next pic will show hoe board on left is slightly higher than right board so if anything was under there it must be thin....

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Hi Tom, trying to get back to fixing this TV but just don't see where a board is under another board as you indicated. All the boards on my TV are affixed to the main chassis and the connectors go through the bottom of the and are screwed to this bottom. Removing the screws that hold the individual panel to the chassis does not allow them to be removed. I would have to remove the screws that also hold the connectors, problem is I don't know which board I am to remove and don't want to start pulling...

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Ok, so I see the small screws with the little stand offs keeping the board elevated. Once I unscrew these and lift the main board what will I need to disconnect. Do I have to remove the main board or just loosen it so I can get under it? Also, anything I should avoid or not touch with tools or hands?...

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Ok, so I see the cable and it is coiled up and zip tied. Looks like it exits just north of the main panel and goes into the larger portion of the TV I have not accessed. Am I looking for a control board "under" the main board or "above" the main board located in the section of TV I have not exposed yet? Thanks for helping. I know it is tough to do via web....

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Are you referring to the large board with the silver foil ribbon connectors? This would be on the right hand side of the TV. On my left working from the back. I don't know what I am looking for, but it looks to me that that board is screwed directly to a metal panel and it does not look like there could be anything under it.

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Ok Tom, here are the pics of the back of my TV. To refresh, it is an LG. Model no. RU42PZ61. I have located the place to send the board for repair, but need to know which part I am supposed to remove.

So here is a pic of inside. This is with the small access panel removed. Do I have to remove the entire back or just the smaller...

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
Shopjimmy? How do I determine the part no? The site I visited were not to helpful in leading me to a CTRL board for my TV model, which I provided. Is there a parts schematic somewhere?
Ok found Shopjimmy.com. Just need part no. ThxLast edited by Merbesfield; 10-15-2013, 01:25 PM.
