I have one of these in also, replaced all component that everyone speaks of. I found a tiny Zener diode connected to the gate circuit for the driver transistor that was shorted 4.3v waiting to place a parts order to see if that finally makes er tick.

  • Re: Sony kdl52s5100. No picture no sound

I have a kdl52s4100 been playing around with it for a while now, everything I've read and tested says its a bad main logic board, apparently for mine there is a repair service but I'm too cheap. Ill figure it out one day.

    Tips And Tricks

So, I've been reading threw forums for the past two weeks soaking up at the great info I can find, but I'm surprised I have not found a good tips and tricks yet! If there is one and I haven't came across it, we'll my bad. So here are some I've read and enjoyed!

    1. The good old current limiting light bulb! Simple 40-100 watt light bulb in series with the hot!

    2. Small cfl light bulb to test inverter outputs.

    3. Isolation transformer on scope of equipment.

    4. Home made EEPROM reader/writer

  • Re: LG 42" Plasma 42pc30 picture quality issue

Thank you for the fast response Tom66 I appreciate it! Would the firmware also cause the slight green around objects? And one more quick thing... The 5vdc is listed as 5.2 on every thing but I only measure 4.9 is that any concern or acceptable? Also I read a few things about some dc-dc converters on the sustain boards, do these ever require tweaking or is it uncommon to play with thos values? Thanks for the input appreciate it! Decided to play with some Tv's as a past time.

  • LG 42" Plasma 42pc30 picture quality issue

    Hello,
Had a quick question for you bright polite fokes. Picked up a "broken" plasma. Previous owner complained of green picture. I set up tv an over all not too bad. Every thing works properly. Picture isn't super sharp, tiny bit of sparkle, and after of an hour a slight bit of green around I objects. Barly noticeable. If I wasn't looking for it I probably would not have seen it.
So I checked some values on the power supplie. Va and vs matched sticker on panel va 60, vs 186 but there was a second sticker with higher max number va 65 and vs 195. One thing I did notice...
