I just wondered how many failures some while after repair may be attributed to not following this so religiously rather than bad components?
Whilst some fail immediately due to bad parts, some reports also suggest that they come back failed some time later.....
digging up an oldish thread here but something that strikes me hasn't really been emphasised is the need for clean tight ground connections at the points where the SC board attaches to the chassis - I presume a degraded connection (showing as a blackened surface on both the solder trace and chassis pillar) is actually the root cause of stress that ends up damaging the IGBTs? Failing to address this effectively and refitting the board without ensuring clean contacts and tight screws will lead to subsequent board failure again.. is this everyone...
