Re: Toshiba 24sl41ou LED backlights not working
Thanks budm I will look into it. Thanks for the info on voltages. It's hard to repeatedly check voltages as it is very rare when the backlights come on. It's more of an opportunity when they come on and you have to be prepared as they will go back off in a minute or so.

Re: Toshiba 24sl41ou LED backlights not working
Ok here are some pics :
Pic #12.20.43 is there because that is a voltage reg on the main board that has 4.77v going in and 3.27 out. Which is ok as an output as it's a AX1117 3.3 but the voltage at the connector on the main board from the power supply has 5.05 volts there. So I was thinking somewhere the voltage drops after that connector and the voltage In on the reg. seems to follow the voltage on bl-on. BTW that voltage has been as low as 4.65v at the voltage reg in and bl-on. Hope some of this helps. Thanks...Last edited by miltown; 02-20-2014, 11:44 AM.

Re: Toshiba 24sl41ou LED backlights not working
Ok so I will have pictures in a moment. So when bl-on is working ie....5 volts everything is good. Then when it is not working bl-on is 4.77 volts. The voltage at the LEDs from pin 1 to 6 when working are 6,23v,6.23v,36.01v,36.01v,6.23,6.23. When bl-on is low at 4.77v pins 1-6 are 22.32v,22.32v,48v,48v,22.32v,22.32v. Again backlights working is very spotty and when it does it is for a very short time. Going to take pictures now.Last edited by miltown; 02-20-2014, 11:44 AM.

Toshiba 24sl41ou LED backlights not working
Hey all have this Toshiba TV. Picture is there sound is there but no backlight. I checked the voltages and at the connector to the main board the 5/12 volts are there solid at 12.02 and 5.05 volts. At the six pin connector to the LED backlights I have (from 1 to 6) 1)22.3v IRLED, 2)22.3v IRLED, 3)48.01v VLED, 4)48.01v VLED, 5)22.4v IRLED, 6)22.4v IRLED.
Not sure if the LED voltages are correct as per manufacturer. There is no labeling of what I'm suppose to have at the LED connector . On the board there is a label that says that the board should have 3 voltages 5v,12v,36v. Not very familiar...

Re: Sony KDL-46EX700 5 blinks
I didn't download the service manual. Is there one on this site? I didn't get a chance to look at the set on Sat. nite. My supervisor said don't worry about the set we aren't really going to be using it any longer. I'm still gonna work on it but I have a project that is going into full swing at the moment so I have to put the set on the back burner. I did disconnect that cable when I was first troubleshooting it. Every cable I would disconnect made the set go down sooner ie... instead of 30 sec. it would be 10 sec. One time I got a 2 blink error and...

Re: Sony KDL-46EX700 5 blinks
Yeah I've done all the TCON tests already that were in that other PDF. Nothing. Like I said there isn't even back lights. I'll measure that voltage though.

Re: Sony KDL-46EX700 5 blinks
Great , Yeah I already downloaded the Sony Training manual. That is were I got 5 blinks is a LCD panel issue. Ill check it out this weekend. On the power supply side of the connector going to the TCON I could never measure the +12 and -12 volts there . I wasn't sure If that was Sony still in some sort of circuit protection doing it's self diag. and waiting to say everything is ok . Like I said the TV is only on for about 30sec before it powers off. Not sure if that 12 v is suppose to be there right from the start. Thanks for the help post on Sat. nite...

Re: Sony KDL-46EX700 5 blinks
So budm not sure what you are saying. Let me clarify what I understand. When the big rocker switch on the side of the set is turned on that will send voltage to the TCON fuse correct? Then when the TV set is actually turned on and is not in standby the mosfet on the main board will then activate the TCON board. Doesn't the path of current enter at the fuse ? Not sure if you are familiar with these sets. The have a main power button and then a regular power button that is used to actually turn the set on. So Im not sure about what the mosfet is the starting....Last edited by miltown; 10-03-2013, 12:38 PM.

Re: Sony KDL-46EX700 5 blinks
Yeah but I have had TV's with cracked panels and they worked. I will say I never had an LED with a cracked panel though.Last edited by miltown; 10-02-2013, 07:53 PM.

Sony KDL-46EX700 5 blinks
Hey all I have a Sony KDL-46EX700 and I'm getting 5 blinks from the standy-by led. It powers up with no video or backlights and then powers down after about 30 sec. The 3.3 standby voltage is there but I can't seem to measure the T-con voltages off the power board because it's not on long enough to get those voltages. Or should they be there right from power up? Not sure. A pencil was thrown at the panel and when it hit the panel went dark and then powered down. After that would not work again. The F101 fuse on the T-con board is fine and I didn't see an actual F1 fuse like I'm use to seeing on...Last edited by miltown; 10-02-2013, 02:25 PM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey new to badcaps obviously, I have been enjoying the scope of the forums though for a while. I'm into building and repairing tube amps. I enjoy working with electronics and troubleshooting (probably my favorite part). Mess with it all from computers to i/o boards , microprocessors and even broadcast transmitters which takes me to my job. Completely self taught in my adventures so every project is full of learning. While I'm not gonna be a genius here I can be helpful.
