  • Re: Sony CECH-ZED1U Playstation 3D LED TV - Two Red Flash

I just found those eeprom on Ebay.
Does anybody know who is selling them on ebay and I would like to make sure that they are legit eeprom pre-programmed and not a scam artist selling eeprom not programmed for $37.99.

Anyone wants to give us some feed back please.

I wanted to order them from ShopJimmy but they only ship to Canada via UPS and I refuse to pay $49.00 shipping cost and then possibly get stucked with huge brokerage fees in order to get them here.
    I once ordered a $20.00...

How much is the "programmed Chip" at ShopJimmy?

I do not see it on their website , I only see the board itself.

Do you have a part number to order the IC/chip programmed form ShopJimmy?

    Appreciate your help

I am from Canada as well, I wouldn't not mind going through the process of reading eeprom and programming a new one, it is never a lost experience.
But I do not currently have a reader/programmer that will read this type of eeprom, 1980 technology that I have.

To buy a new unit to repair qty 3 unit, just is a waste of money.

I would be willing to put that money towards eeprom already programmed that are guarantied working.

I am willng to buy 3 eeprom already programmed at...

Do you think that you can program new eeprom and ship them to me?
I reside in Canada, that would save me the trouble of ordering eeproms and programmer.

    Let me know

  • Re: Badcaps in apple Imac 27'' ?

Items circled are not "Electrolytic capaicors".
The blue on at the bottom circled could possibly cause an issue if the voltage would go way too high at its input, it would burn/pop and go short circuit.

But if you are looking at repairing your power supply which is faulty and read on the internet that one of the issue is with "Bad caps" then the items circled are not your problem.

I would look for "bad caps" in the 4 black parts at the bottom of the picture or the 2 brown parts below...

  • Re: Apple Imac 27" ? screen ?

Not sure how old your imac is, but in older 2009 and up to 2010/2011 it is related to bad video card.

You must remove the video card (lots of work but worth it) and reflow the video chip.

I believe that there is a recall on some imac 27" 2010/2011
Just check on google which model and serial numbers are affected.

Did you get anywhere with the .bin for this eeprom?
I have picked up a few of these for my boys (with the flashing red lights), I want to fix them so they can have a cheap unit.

I can find the eeprom programmer, I remember that some of the RCA TVs in old days had eeproms going corrupted which was caused by bad grounds all over the mainboard.

I am hoping that the issue is just with a bad programming from the factory and not an eeprom corruption from mainboard intermittent...
