Re: LG 37" lcd tv won't respond to remote
Thanks for the tips, set still won't work. Now it won't respond to panel controls either. I will be opening it up & testing for the 3.4 volts.
I swear I've had it opened up so many times that I'am gonna put snaps on the rear panel. If no 3.4 volts are found, what should I check next?
Thanks

Re: LG 37" lcd tv won't respond to remote
Sorry, I didn't leave the mini jack plugged in., I worked it in & out several times to try to clean it out. I also used contact cleaner. still no results.
Thanks

Re: LG 37" lcd tv won't respond to remote
Thanks for responding, tried both suggestions, cannot disconnect the jack without desoldering it.
Set worked until I shut it down for about an hour, now same problem but now it won't respond even if I plug in the mini jack.
Possible I have a bad main board?
Thanks.

LG 37" lcd tv still won't respond to remote
Hello Again,
Thanks for the 2 responses. I tried them both, and it worked until I shut the tv off for an hour.
The set is an LG 37" lcd tv, made in 2007.
The unit still won't turn on with the remote control, and won't respond to any command from it. Could I have a bad main board?
Thanks

LG 37" lcd tv won't respond to remote
Hello,
I have an LG 37lc7d tv that won't respond to the remote control unless you insert a small headphones jack into the TV's "remote in" plug on the back panel. This usually does the trick until the next day, same problem again.
Also, second problem (possibly related), when the tv does work, the "setup" screen will flash on & off which gets real annoying.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: LCD TV and Monitor basic troubleshooting guides
Greetings,
My question is I have an LG 37" lcd tv that will not respond to the remote control unless I first stick a small headphone plug (pin?) into the back panel of the TV's "remote in" hole-(jack). This seems to reset the tv & then it works fine until I shut it off & leave it off overnight.
The second problem-(possibly related) is that when the tv is working the "setup" screen will flash on & off.--(This gets annoying).
I'am wondering if anyone can help...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello, my user name is Meterman. ...Bet you can't guess what I do for a living?
I have been a mechanic most of my life, but started working on electronics about 13 yrs. ago when I went back to school for my job. I have been a lead electric meter tech for my local utility for the last 11 yrs. TV repair is new to me, so I need a little help w / diagnostics. Hope I can find it here.
Thanks,
John
