I have a LG 40 inch lcd tv when it is on it only shows half the picture on the right hand Side of the screen ( when the tv is on looking at the screen) if you tape the screen or around the sides of it the picture appears fine for a wee while ,I have opened it up and can't see any loose connections ,any help appreciated

Hi this is my first post,I am trying out a new hobby by sorting some dead tv's that I pick up at auctions,,the latest is this 32 inch lcd it switches on ok it then works for a around a couple of mins and switches its self of then back on,I also have a 40 inch model that was working fine but now the picture looks like the image is being filmed in infrared its Green,blue and red,you can just make the image out, I have tried changing the tuner board but its still the same ,I also tried a suggestion from some re search on the net to press mute then 182 then power it on this is supposed to let me into...

I have purchased this Samsung LE32R74BD. A(R) tv for spares or repair I wonder if any members can advise me on the problem it has, when I power it on it flashes 3 times then a small glimmer of light like the screen is going to light up then one more red light flash then it shuts down ,I also have another tv the same make and modle and this one powers up but has a blue screen,I am wondering if I can make one out of he 2!

Have you tried checking all the caps,Iam new to this ,I have had several large plasmas given to me to mess about with,some of which I have managed to fix ,they all had a power supply board problem,they were clicking of and on,so I bought on line the correct repair kit and it fixed the issues,others I bought the replacement board and I was luck enough that the problem was fixed

Hi there members,I picked up a bush 32 inch lcd tv,for spares and Iam trying to fix it as a project,it does switch on the picture is fine but there is thin red horizontal lines about 3/4 of the screen ,these lines start at the bottom,when the Ariel is unplugged and and the blue back ground is present it is easier to see the problem,Iam new to trying to do repairs,so any help is appreciated

My brothers samsung has started playing up like this one but its not a fading picture this one shows the screen quite pale and is displaying green vertical lines,I am wondering if its the same sort of problem waiting to develope...

I have had issues like this,and my power supply board looked ok,I bought a repair kit of the net and I thought I had ordered the wrong thing as it was a pack of caps,I took them of one by one and replaced them with the new ones,powered it back up,he presto job done,if you can afford to buy a replacement recycled part ,I would recommend you do that

I like to strip down electrical items and in this day and age it's a throw away world so I trail around auctions and boot sales,and free cycle sites for TVA that people just don't want or can't be bothered to upgrade or have had a quote to have them repaired ,and just throws them out....

I've had problems with the same board,but mine was clicking all the time and not coming on,i spent a lot of time trying to replace caps ect, my caps looked ok ,I didn't try replacing the qx801 or qx802 parts as this looked tricky to me as my skills are limited,I eventually bought a recycled board from ebay and it works ok now,I have kept my old board and I will eventually buy the qx801 parts and try it out,it's all about experience to me ,so I can learn something new,this site is very helpful
