No new updates, I haven't messed with it in a while. I need to look into if it's a bad plasma screen & if the boards would still be good if it is. Winter is coming, maybe I'll mess with it soon.

The new power board arrived today. Installed it & no change. It still flashes white with pink jagged edges for a 1 second & then no picture but sound.Leave a comment:

Sorry I haven't updated lately. I received the wrong control board so I had to wait for a replacement. The new control board did not change anything. I've ordered a "Factory New" PSB. I will up post an update when it arrives.Leave a comment:

I Just checked all the voltages several times. They all appear to reach their values, then drop for the split second while the screen flashes & then they return to their values before slowing dropping. I don't know how these voltages normally operate, is that considered stable?Leave a comment:

The buttons on the front (power, channel, volume, etc..) are non responsive. Are they related to the control board?
Seems like it's either the control board or the power supply board at this point.
I found a used control board for $13. I think I'll order it & if that doesn't fix it, try a PSB.Leave a comment:

It stays on for about 3 seconds then goes out. I only left the tv on about 20 seconds but it never came back on.

It must not get a good enough connection for some reason in the center, I cleaned it with alcohol but it didn't change. I assume the VSC was always -188, I just failed to get the reading.Leave a comment:

I tested it with everything connected & it still read -188.
It it reads 0.00 with the lead like this

I put the new Y-main back in & tested off the "side" of the VSC test point instead of the center & it reads -188. It's supposed to be -193. Still no change in the picture.Leave a comment:

Alright, Thanks. Just out of curiosity, I put the old Y-main back in disconnected from the X main & Y buffer. It read -190 VSC. I reconnected everything & it still read -190 VSC. Does this change anything or are the two Y-mains still bad but in different ways?Leave a comment:

Ok, thanks. I'm going to borrow a different meter to check it, I don't quite trust mine for something like this.

I pulled the Y-buffer & tested it according to that video. I dont have a sound option on my meter. I have it set on diode. I get a reading of .8-1.5 on most pins. Is that the correct setting I should use? What reading would indicate a fault?Leave a comment:

I'm putting the red lead on the VSC point & the black lead to the chassis screw. The same as I did on the other test.

My meter is set at 200v DCV
VE is to be a 89. VE reads 89 for 4 seconds & then starts to drop. VSC is to be -193. It does not read at all(0.00). I tried it 4 times with meter in place before plugging the TV in.
while I was at it I checked Va & Vs on the PSB
VA to be 55 Vs to be 209
They both read their correct values on initial start up but jump around quite a bit & start to fall after 1 second or so.Leave a comment:

Plasma panel? Power supply board? Buffers? How do you tell if it's a bad plasma panel? That's the only thing that concerns me, I can replace about every other board & break even on the project.Leave a comment:

Well, I replaced the X & Y-mains with factory new boards & no change. The tv still turns on, flashes static with pink around the edges for a second & then blank with sound. I tried the control board test again with the same results.What else could it be? ThanksLeave a comment:
