Re: LG 50" Model 50PCPD No picture or sound, powers up.
I'll buy the main board. I did look online E-bay, but the same connector is off as mine. i'm thinking the same thing, cannot get sound or anything when plugging stuff into it, but it does have the led light on. Thanks for checking, and ill update.

Re: LG 50" Model 50PCPD No picture or sound, powers up.
RECAP Please some guidance.
TV has no sound or screen. You can see a faint snow.
When I turn on the TV, the red light turns to green, while powering up, it blinks green 20 times, then stays green
PSU has all the correct voltages leaving and entering the ZandY sustain boards.
Disconnecting each buffer board, half the screen turns to brighter snow effect.
The control board has three of the four LED lights lit up. D3 D4 D5, D2 doesn't light up.

Re: LG 50" Model 50PCPD No picture or sound, powers up.
I disconnected the control board and powered up the TV. No changes, same faint screen. This is the same board that had the download cable come loose. I don't know if this would be it, but I think it is worth a shot buying one. Thoughts?
Looking closely at the small download cable, it looks as if it was just glued on the the board. Ones i have seen for sale don't even have the connector on. Is there a test for this, should I ad a picture for viewing to make more sense?
ThanksLast edited by jrwhites; 09-24-2013, 08:06 PM.

The top of the Zsus board where it says test.
Also noted when back there, the download cable is loose on the control board, this wouldn't have any issue with the screen would it?Last edited by jrwhites; 09-22-2013, 08:43 PM.

I tested the orange covered resistor/transistor? I believe. says <---VZB-----> right under it where you had pointed out exactly.

Re: LG 50" Model 50PCPD No picture or sound, powers up.
I was able to find the C14 capacitor it was a 250w, it was towards the top middle, I didn't see anything with an orange cap but a few resistor looking things. I checked the two test spots and it was .000, What am I checking there? might be wrong there. The orange capped resistor was named VY, dead as a door nail.
As for R85 Y-sus board i had a reading of .000, checked the other side incase i wasn't on the lead in side, it was 58 volts.
Couldn't find a Q53 resistor on the Z-sus.

Re: LG 50" Model 50PCPD No picture or sound, powers up.
The model is a 50PC5D.
With everything connected is has the dark grey screen with VERY faint snow effect. The R/H top and bottom coreners is looks a little brighter.. If I disconnect either the top or bottom buffer board, the lower half brightens up.
As for sound, I connected a dvd player. I cannot tell what input channel it is on because I cannot see any image stating so. I tried manually setting the input to change, but nothing happened. I don't even get a crakel from the speakers.

LG 50" Model 50PCPD No picture or sound, powers up.
Current condition: TV powers up and stays on with the green light. The screen is powered on to a dark grey with faint snow effect.
Buffer board test. Each board was disconnected and the lower half of the screen would lighten up.
The control board has three LED lights on, D3, D4, D5. I also replaced this board.
Y-Z sus test. When disconnected and powered up, the screen showed no sign of life. This was done with each one separately. One issue when I connected the Z-sus power cable back up, it sparked a little, this was even after 10 minutes of sitting with...

Re: A guide to fixing/troubleshooting some common plasma TV problems
So have have read through these posts looking for the common answer, but yet to find one. I thought I was close with Tom's post here.
I have a 50" lg. No picture or sound. Now the screen does have a dark grey with faint snow. As it stands now, the control board does have three LED lights on, d3, d4, d5. Besides that I did the buffer check. I have the upper and lower. Each time I disconnected one, the lower half of the screen got brighter. So does that mean both buffers are bad?,...

Re: Help with Plasma tv.
I have the same tv. If the tv is powered up, the y sus heat shield warms up and the z sus stays cool. As for the y sus, the heat shield on the far left gets warm, the others are cool. My symptoms is not picture but little fuze, heavier on the bottom and top R/H side of the screen.
