Hi i had one in today fault as described.
I found a similar mb95m out of a 39" JVC, fitted that and set worked but pic upside down.
Downloaded the kindly supplied files, and flashed them to my JVC board.
Picture now correct, but will not tune freeview.
Figured my board may have different tuner to original.
Fitted original board, flashed firmware to that.
Set works! But still no freeview, scans but picks up no channels.
Any ideas?

When i got this in for repair i was expecting a vestel 17ips20 or similar inside. But I found a lite-on ue-3121-1u power supply.
Anyone come across this?
So far mains is present both sides of fuse, 316V on primary cap, nothing at all on low volt outputs.

Just to post the result, noticed that Pwm_dim was actually being pulled to ground. Disconnected the wire to it from main board and backlights came on. Left it floating for now and tv seems ok, just obviously no backlights control. Perfectly useable, seeing as I can't find a main board for less than 80 quid!Leave a comment:

According to the schematic im looking at i appear to already have 3.2v on BL-ON, however i have 0v on PWM_DIM could that be it?Leave a comment:

Thanks Andrew, they are different sets that use the same power supply, unfortunately i havent got a main board for this tv, its a UHD 3D jobby. Strange that it works if I power the backlights externaly, menus come up fineLeave a comment:

Update: plugged a main board from a different set into the psu, and backlights come on, so its def main board. I wonder if the backlights are / can be switched off in the service menu?Leave a comment:

Hi I have a strange one here.
No backlights at all.
Tested backlights, all good, 28v drawn per strip, stable and no lights out.
Tested backlights whole circuit, 145V drawn all lights on.
Fitted good known power supply, no backlights but tv working.
Fitted original power supply in good known tv, works fine including backlights.
Power supply is 17IPS20
plugged good known backlights in to faulty TV - dont light up.
So, it appears im left with main board working, but not issuing signal to psu to turn on backlights? With my backlight tester plugged... -
Hi Reece I could do with doing this conversion. Did you keep any notes of which wires you changed around?

Sorted! i managed to get the hotel menu up, but 1105 didnt work. Then by accident found its actualy 1105 then OK!
Working now. Hotel mode menu is tricky, have to get it while it is displaying the channel number, wont work if its displaying no signal.

Hi i have a 47 inch toshiba with the chicony pk101w0710i i am experimenting with.
The initial problem, as usual, was backlights. I cannot get them anywhere, so i have modified some LG strips to fit.
On first power up tv will stay on for hours, but if its turned of and on again, backlights will fail.
I beleive it is the protection on the psu detecting a variance from spec and shutting them off, as when they fail they have no power.
if i supply them from a seperate source they are fine.
My question is, does anyone know a way of disabling the protection on the psu... -

None of the buttons on the remote function, no menu, channel change, vol, input etc. I have disconnected the button board, i suspected a stuck switch as well. The lg instructions dont work as cant access any menus. I have tried 2 remotes. I have tried firmware update but doesnt react to usb port. The tv does work displaying the channel it is currently on fine, with no sound. Unable to determine whether thats an audio issue, or just vol turned down.Leave a comment:

lg 32lg3000 keylock on
I have in for repair a 32lg3000. The side buttons just show keylock on when pressed. The remote is unresponsive on tv, but does work on another tv. I can access the service menu, by holding both menu buttons, but cant find a factory reset in there. I have tried the user manual instructions for removing keylock, they dont seem to work. Any ideas ppl? -

hi all, got a Samsung UE48 here, screen just flickers once on power up. Power led responds correctly, ie flashes when volume up is pressed etc. If i disconnect the T Con ribbon, then the backlights come on ok, have an identical tv with a broken lcd, have swapped all the boards still the same. Any ideas?
Update: The backlights come on if i disconnect the panel side of the tconn as well, if i disconnect one of the panel ribbon cables backlights stay on no image, if i disconnect the other its the same, but with both connected no backlights at all.
