Re: LG 50PT250 Plasma - no picture
Hi Munirutech, I tried removing the sub-buffers one at a time but no picture at all. When I try to switch on the TV in very dark room I don't see even a slight light on the screen, does that mean my Z-main is faulty ? Is there any method to check Z-main. Thanks.

Re: LG 50PT250 Plasma - no picture
Hi Hamie, Thanks for reply mate. Vsc= 142.7 and Vy=191.8. Also I checked Vs=205.1 and Va=55.0V, They both matches exactly same as per the panel data. Does that mean my Y-sus is good ? Is there anything I can do to check the Z-sus too? Please suggest how to localize the problem. Thanks.

LG 50PT250 Plasma - no picture
Hi Everyone,
Starting a new thread to troubleshoot on a 50" plasma which is having no picture but sound. I tried to generate test patterns by shortening ext_auto on the control card but no video at all, which suggests that the mainboard is good. I checked the Vs and Va which appears to be good. When I switch the TV on in dark I see no light at all, does that mean the Z-main is faulty. Is there any way to confirm if the fault is in Z-Main/Y-main or power board. I cannot isolate bypass Y-main here as Z-main is connected via Y-main.
The owner of the TV was telling...

Re: Lg 60PK550 Problem
Hi friends, I had a similar problem with my LG 50PK550. I wasted 2 weeks on it but couldn't find the issue. It had an intermittent power issue. Lastly I replaced IC701 at the back of the power board and it solved my problem. Not sure what chip the 60PK550 uses but here is what I bought from this guy. I hope that helps somebody.

Re: Sharp LC-46LE820X Lamp error
It is an edge-lit LED tv. Should it show me the dark area just like in the pics? Thanks....

Re: Sharp LC-46LE820X Lamp error
Hi mate, thanks for sharing the cct diagram and suggestion. I checked that diode but it is good.
I spent half the day checking the LED strips. What I did was, I took out all the four LED strips (2 top + 2 bottom) from the screen. In order to check the LED's I switched off/on the tv again and again using remote. Whenever I switched on the TV the LED's came on for a fraction of a second. So I concentrated on each strip one by one to find any LED which does not glow. But all the LED's were glowing. Not sure my method to...

Re: Sharp LC-46LE820X Lamp error
Hi freakaftr8, I tried connecting both the wires one by one but same results. None of the backlight LED turned on. Just wondering whether I will be getting any kind AC/DC voltages on them as the TV is running? Also if the LED strips are short then how can I check for it... are they repairable or they needs to be changed thoroughly? Thanks.

Re: Sharp LC-46LE820X Lamp error
Hi Kilroys and freakaftr8 for your suggestions, here are the findings....
When I press the menu the the blinking pattern changes to one slow blink and one fast blink and it keeps repeating.
When I hold volume -, Source and power together then the blinking stabilizes. Now I was able to turn on/off the tv normally. The only problem is the backlight not turning on. I see that the LED backlit try to switch on for a microsecond but they go off after that. I can hear the sound and also the LCD screen showing some faint shadows...

Sharp LC-46LE820X Lamp error
Hi friends, I have a Sharp 46" LED TV model - LC-46LE820X. I got it from a friend who told me that it is not starting up at all. When investigated noticed that the central icon blinking twice which suggest a lamp error code as per the service manual. I tried to reset it by holding Volume -, Channel up and power. This resulted in stabilising the central icon and I was able to switch on the tv.
I plugged in the antenna and I could hear the sound but the backlit is not on. When tried to switch on the TV in dark I could see that the backlit tried coming on for less than a second...

Re: Samsung LCD clicking and blinking
I bought the EEPROM from Ebay. Here is the link, the seller has relisted it. Its pretty cheap. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370920152727Re: Samsung LCD clicking and blinkin...20152727

Re: Samsung LCD clicking and blinking
Hi All... This is the final update of the problem. Fixed at last. I actually found the problem. The EEPROM was bricked. In these LA40 series SAMSUNG LCD TV's if the capacitors go bad then the EEPROMS will be bricked doesn't matter how much you reset it, it again goes back to the power cycle. I experienced it with 3 LA40 series models (2 x LA40R81BDX and LA40M81BDX)
So finally, I changed the EEPROM and since then no issues at all. The only problem arises is the picture quality is a bit dull because the service menu resets to the...

Samsung UA40C6900 not starting
Hi all, I have a Samsung UA40C6900 tv. The problem with the tv is it keeps trying to power on repeatedly. I can hear the chime and for few seconds it shows distorted picture then again shuts down. Please see the attached pics of the tv. I am dealing for the first time with an LED slim tv so don't know what would be the correct reading on SMPS output. Here are the readings:
Pin Marked Measured
1 12V 12.19V
2 NC 5.25V
3 12V 12.19V
4 BL_ON 12mV---> 4.86V
5 12V 12.78V
6 P_DIM 245mV---> 1.49V...

Re: LG50PK550 Relay Clicking Intermittent Problem
Hi Tom, Thanks you for your valuable suggestions and must say this forum is great. Here are the findings... Firstly I applied a 10ohm resistor across STBY and GND pins and removed the connector going to main board. I switched ON the TV but there was no LED on the TV, I mean I couldn't switch the TV on by remote as main board was disconnected. I checked the voltage on all pins there was nothing. So I connected the connector with the resistor still on. Now I could see 3.43v standby voltage and changing to 5.14V when TV is ON.

Re: LG50PK550 Relay Clicking Intermittent Problem
Yes I have one 10ohm 5W resistor. Also wondering can we suspect the capacitors as I haven't replaced or checked any. Thanks.Last edited by rahulmadhukar; 09-11-2013, 05:06 PM.

Re: LG50PK550 Relay Clicking Intermittent Problem
Hi tom, below are the readings... Thanks
17V - It is 17.14V and decreases gradually as relay clicks.
5.1V- It is 5.1V only and drops to 0 as relay clicks.
ERRROR_DET- It is 3.3V and goes till 3.7 and back.
STBY - 5.14V when tv is working and 3.43(constant) when tv is clicking.
AC_DET - 0.0V and changes to 2.3v as relay clicks
M_ON - 3.25V and drops to 0.19V as relay clicks
