The trim pot actually is acting like the red line is an open, not a short....

I disassembled the TV to where I could access the T-Con board and gave it a good inspection. I discovered a trim pot with the following characteristics:
For connections A, B, and C...
A -> B = 0 ohms
B -> C = A -> C
This holds true no matter how I rotate the pot. (I did mark its original position first)
Sounds to me like its shorted and needs to be replaced...but I don't know for sure what the maximum resistance is supposed to be.
The T-Con board is a Phillips 6870C-017...

Vizio GV52L washed out picture
I have a Vizio GV52L FHDTV10A that I've been working on for some time now. The picture looks like the brightness is cranked all the way up even when the setting is all the way down. No matter which inputs I use, the picture looks the same. The menu screen looks washed out too.
The change happened suddenly while I was watching it so nobody changed any of the factory defaults without me knowing.
