  • Re: Sony KDL46z4100 red hazy picture

    Still happy !

Watched it last night, and all works OK.
Sadly TWC no longer shows anything without a box, which I have never had. And will not get.
Was feeling miserable for a while.... but after a short think, installed a 6 feet long wire to antenna plug, atteched it to venetian blind
and chose "antenna input" from menu and pressed "autotune" and....
after about 10 mins more than 50 channels ! Over the air ones. Local news etc and some in HD !
    Enough for me, as I...

Oh, and it came all pads etc fitted, just like in my original one.

The biggest issue was getting those flat ribbons back in their holders, the 2 on top of board.
Taking the long metal piece with holes in it out helped a lot.

I ordered it fom the company, whose site was linked here. Somewhere earlier in thi thread, or was it another thread? Anyway, on that message, the picture of the problem was identical as my problem picture was, as was the T-Con board. I couldn't find that board anywhere else.

I was a bit worried, when I saw where my payment went...

    But everything turned out OK!

Thanks to them as well !

I hope it works now for another 5 years, being...

Got a package from China...... was really worried what is inside.
The board was just like mine ! Started to put it back in, with shaking hands...
Eventually got it all back together, no screws left over.
    Slowly powered it up, and........
    It works !!!!!!!
The T-Con board was bad !

So guys , a BIG thank you to all !
You gave me the idea, what to do, and pointed me to the right direction.
Alone, I would have NEVER had the courage to open the cover. Let alone take a board out from inside...

  • Re: Sony KDL46z4100 red hazy picture

I ordered mine yesterday, let's see if it arrives in one piece. Or if it arrives at all.
Was shocked to see how many different boards are available. Even with the right modelnumber. The one I ordered matched, atleast all numbers were just like in mine.

Do these boards have a pre-programmed date to go bad in them ?
As these T-Cons on KDL-46Z4100 TVs are going bad all about now.... :-)
Warning for all owners of this model, Your T-Con board is about to go bad about right now !

    Will naturally report here,...

Got my T-con out....in one piece.
It is just like the one here previously mentioned and pictured in that link of Wisiny.com.

Gotta order one to see if I can get it back in order....

A new member here, and immediately happy (sorry...) to see I am not alone !
My KLD-46z4100 has that exact problem !
Picture went like that (previous message), being bright/white and colours way off.
Pointing to broken T-Con board, right ?
Where can I get a replacement, here in US ?
Opened the back cover once, with some guidance from here. But didn't see anything wrong. By eye, I mean.
Didn't open the T-Con yet, as I was (and still am) a bit worried if I can do it. Or if I take it to shop to get fixed. But I...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

A new member here too, live here in NYC.
I am glad I found this board !
Pretty sure I will get some help from here. To sort out my issue....
With some reading already had the courage to open my Sony LCD.
And already pretty confident my T-con is bad.
Will post details/questions, when permitted to do so.
Looking forward for some fun time learning and hopefully fixing our TV!
