Re: Samsung FP-T5084 Won't turn on
I replaced what I could for the capacitors, the kit of capacitors was a bit misleading and didn't have them all but covered the few I thought may be bad.
The new capacitors are a bit smaller but have the same ratings on the outside... a newer smaller type?
They all went in quite well and was able to get a good solder joint. Upon repowering the same problem remained... the red light was on steady.
At this point it seems to point towards replacing the remaining caps... even the tiny ones?

Re: Samsung FP-T5084 Won't turn on
Well I have ordered a replacement cap set for the power supply board. We will see if that takes care of it.
Any other troubleshooting ideas would be a big help and may save a little time.
thanks again

Re: Samsung FP-T5084 Won't turn on
It is very similar to the pics in the other post. It appears a heat sink is different. I couldn't make out the bulged caps.
As I said there is only one cap with a bump and a very minor bump at that. Perhaps changing out that one cap may be a first step.
I hope the pics I attached help a little.
thanks again

The ebay link just has a Samsung logo...
The PSU is where the AC power is routed into?

Samsung FP-T5084 Won't turn on
I am hoping I can be pointed in the right direction.
Details: Samsung FP-T5084
PDP Module: model S5OFH-XB01
One day it simply wouldn't turn on.When plugged in the red power light glows steady and upon pressing the power button on the unit or remote nothing happens, no blinks, simply remains steady.
On the inside the 6 fuses that I have located are OK. Visual inspection of the center circuit board has one capacitor that is slightly bulged on the end.
Please any guidance would be appreciated.
