First of all, sorry for such a late response. I've been super busy lately.

By fade out, I mean that the image does NOT just switch off, but rather it takes about half a second from full image to completely black. There is still audio, but not image at all.

In order to narrow it down to just the tv set, I disconnected all other components (cable box, game box, dvd, antenna, etc.) and switched the set on. I quickly brought up the setup menu and it showed for about one second before it quickly...

It fades out no matter what input is selected, whether there is a signal or not....

After searching for over an hour on this forum, I discovered a member with the exact same problem as me.

I also learned that fixing the problem is far beyond my knowledge, so I almost decided not to post. However, here it is...

A while back I had a no-picture/clicking problem with a Samsung HPT4254 that I pulled out the power board, sent it to a guy in Washington, and one week and $65 dollars later I had a working set again.

Now my friend's Samsung...

I'm kind of a newbie and i'm trying to find a fix for a friend's TV. I've had some good luck finding help on the internet to repair refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, and my own plasma TV.
