Re: Dell 3008wfp Cycling Colors - No Input Screen
Googling 'Dell 3008wfp EEPROM chip' gave this interesting result:
http://aaaronmiller.wordpress.com/2007/03/17/how-to-short-the-eeprom-on-a-dell-latitude-d610/
Lumerjack777 - do you think shorting pins 3 and 6 on the 3008wfp might work? Can you point out where the EEPROM chip is located on the 3008wfp main board?
The method used in the link is a paperclip - what do you think of that?Re: Dell 3008wfp Cycling Colors - No...3008wfp EEPROM

Re: Dell 3008wfp Cycling Colors - No Input Screen
Ugh...
Thank you for describing the likely problem - that helps!
Have you replaced any mainboards on this model - are they available somewhere, and would that solve the issue?

Re: Dell 3008wfp Cycling Colors - No Input Screen
Thanks so much - tried these options with no success...
Have tried various button combinations today - unplugging, replugging, holding power button 30 seconds, whistling Dixie, etcetera but nothing is working.
Is there any way to reset the board? The buttons don't seem to be working. I even read of some people 'blindly' pushing the menu button until some menu came on - have tried many combos...
So is my monitor toast?

Dell 3008wfp Cycling Colors - No Input Screen
After replacing the D22 diode, the Blue LED power light comes on but the screen is cycling thru the 'test' or 'burn-in' colors. The input screen does not come on, whether hooked up to a computer or not...
Have tried all sorts of button combinations in trying to reach the Menu or reset the OSD with no luck.
Is there any way to do a complete reset via one of the boards?

Re: Dell 3008wfp faulty power supply
Are there any of the 3008wfp experts still around...?
We need you!
Hoping to get some guidance on testing the board before putting it all back together...

Re: Dell 3008wfp faulty power supply
Having read through all of this thread, was wondering if someone could post steps of instructions on how to test the power board before reassembling the case - for someone without electronics background?
Will be installing a new diode into 3008wfp this weekend and would like to see if it works before putting the whole mess back together... :-)
Also, are there any tests that can be done if the diode ends up not the problem... ?

Dell 3008WFP Monitor Power Shut Off & Stained Boards
Hello All,
Beloved 5-year-old Dell 3008WFP shut off last Saturday. After about half hour of use, the monitor made a small 'blup' noise and shut off (blue power light went off and did not come back on). It was the same 'blup' noise it makes when powering on, so first thought was that it had a power problem.
After trying different power cords and electric outlets, and letting it sit and think about it overnight - without success - Googling found the very informative threads on this forum and at Overclockers:
