Re: Dell W4200hd
So the TV still works but I have to use a heat gun on the sub power board right next to the power board in that area I have no idea why but if I heat up that general area for a few seconds the TV turns on fine stays working. otherwise it turns on clicks blue light no screen none of the Caps look puffy is there any way to test them so I don't have to throw this out. I think the Caps may have dried out and a lot of people are reporting they change the power board it did nothing so it must be the sub power board

Dell W4200hd
I've had this Dell W4200HD plasma for over a year and it slowly gets harder to turn on.
If I plug it in and hit power it clicks then the psu redlight led turns on.The front stays blue and no video have to unplug it to retry.
If I plug it in and wait a few minutes it usually powers up but not yesterday till I took it away from the cold window then it started working again.
All caps look good I saw online usually it's the main and sub PSU that has dried caps. How do I test for those with a multimeter. I had to put my trusty backup tv a SOYO lcd(only works...

Re: 5N2307 Failure on TH-42PZ77U
dust buildup lowers the fans efficiency and the transformer runs too hot.
incidentally the update is call "peak limit" so I'm assuming it limits peaks to avoid stress on the PSU components.

Re: 5N2307 Failure on TH-42PZ77U
considering i use these for lan parties and unplug them everytime there not in use I could care less about thermal fuses that can't be reset. they should have breakers in them or a sensor to shut it down. these things were $2,000 a few years ago now there barely $20 craigslist junk.....

Re: 5N2307 Failure on TH-42PZ77U
Everyone that removed the board had issues with ribbon clips and stuff I don't want the hassle if i don't and I can't solder very well.If anyone knows what exactly these do please chime in.

Re: 5N2307 Failure on TH-42PZ77U
that's why i was thinking of running it at half contrast as its considerably darker. I was going to use it as a spare tv for lan party's.So it might see a few hours every week.

5N2307 Failure on TH-42PZ77U
just picked this up
http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/sys/4815882763.html
And I started lifting legs on the 5N2307's till it powered up. Currently I have the bottom 3 re-soldered and leg on number 4 up. tried it for a hour or so works fine.
Any Issues running it with one not there?
I've seen newer versions of these boards with Missing FET's maybe they found out it had a few too many.
I don't know exactly what it does. So any ideas from people who know about...

Re: Did I mess up my new power board
Yeah that meter is junk (can tab fuse)it still turned on but shows 0.00. I had it set for 200v but boom. It definitely created a short top ground.Tv works fine though I just turned down VS and messed with v setup and VFR there were sparkles on skin tones not when dark but seems good now.
tv has a weird issue I've seen before. When I turn it on there is snow for a second then it goes away any idea what that is

l37wd14 New Caps Still no Sound
I just got this l37wd14 for 10$ last night.
video works fine but sound only works for 5 mins
I found 3 bulged 16v 1000uf caps on the power supply
I swapped em with 35v 1000uf caps from radio shack
still only 5 mins sound and the audio output doesn't work at all
I turned over the powerboard and saw some burn
any ideas what to change next??????
(excuse my poor soldering skills my iron is from WW2 literally)...

NEC LCD4000 weird backlight issue
ok so got a real cheap NEC LCD4000 monitor
it's a 2003 model and the first large LCD ever made supposedly
it has 5 inverter boards
when i looked at it it had the bottom 3rd was dim
so brought it home and did some inverter swapping
since the bottom 2 werent working
first I swapped the 3rd one wit the6th and it didn't cjange so number 6 works
then i swapped 4 with 5 and now 4 bulbs are on
then the bottom one came on for 20 mins then died
they all feed each other so when i put the bad bottom...

Re: TH-50PX75U NO Video\Sound No Blinks Turns on fine
I followed the service manual and when I unplugged the D5 from the main to d board i got a solid white screen which is supplied by the ic on the d board and there were no lines or artifacts and the manual said the only thing it could be is the mainboard.
and everywhere the power,d board, and mainboard are out of stock so these tv have alot of issues. I should have kept my Yamaha PDM-1 it just had one intermittent vertical green line and was from 2002 and worked perfect....

TH-50PX75U NO Video\Sound No Blinks Turns on fine
I have a TH50PX75U
50" plasma tv. it turns on fine and you can see the glow
it turns on from the remote also
it just doesn't show a picture or do anything after that
I checked the service manual and unplugged D5 connector and powered it on
I get a full white screen so according to that the power, sustain, and D board are fine.
I'm thinking mainboard or the mainboard isn't getting the right voltage
any ideas it seems all the normasl issues have a blink code?

ppm42s3x/xaa vertical red thin bar
just bought a old 2004 model edtv plasma for 30$
Samsung ppm42s3x/xaa
problem is just left of center it has a 1 inch linear bar that only appears in a dim picture
if the picture is bright you don't see it or if its black
my research is saying its a bad IC on the panel ribbon.
and better ideas...
