Re: Which is the better choice to replace 3300/6.3v caps?
0.042Ω = 42 mΩ
Some Low ESR cap could have as low as a few mΩ only.
Nevertheless, you can still use the 2700 one without problem.
Besides, its always good to have your case with good ventilation .

Re: Biostar tForce 590SLi Delux
I have my 8400GS replaced 4 SACON FZ 6.3V 1500μF with
Panasonic FL 6.3V 1000μF. Yeah, both the load & idle temp were
reduced a little bit, 2 ~ 4 °C.
Afterwards, I installed the 3 SACON in CPU's VRM of my K8updrade-NF3.
The original caps were KZG 6.3V 3300μF.
The caps are damn hot but I use a CM Gemini II HSF with dual 12cm fans blowing on the CPU ,VRM & surrounding area. The Athlon64 CPU is running at 2430Mhz with
270Mhz HT freq. The idle & loading temp. are around 40°C...

Re: LC Power LC6420
I brought 4 PSUs from mainland china B4:
a 300W Huntkey, a 250W Hopley ( now renamed as Great Wall) , a 350W Hedy
& a 350W segotep.
I Found Teapo caps in Huntkey & Segotep , Samxon caps in Hedy & unknown
cheap caps in Great Wall.
The 300W Huntkey also use AWG16 wire on 3.3V of the main 20-pin ATX connector.
Huntkey's quality is a bit above average in mainland china but
if a 500W version only gives out 200W to 300W is very bad.
EMI/RFI filter is a must for passing...

Re: Asus A7N8X Deluxe v2.0 (again)
majority of mobo use 10V caps on the +5V VRM in
That was very common for using +5V rail VRM in during Ante- P4 & K8 time.
PSUs were also strong in +5V rail at that time.

Re: The Hall of Shame - Badcaps Photo Montage
Jetway still like to use Sacon nowadays.
I saw some other brands MB OEM from Jetway also come with
many Sacon 6V3 1000μF near different slots.
Besides, I saw many Asrock MBs come with OST 6V3 1000μF in those positions.
I just prefer OST to Sacon though JP caps are my favorites.

Re: XP product key / service pack idiocy
Learnt from some sites that OEM mobo BIOS store some specfic info .
During XP setup , system will check up the specific info see if it is
e.g. a Dell , IBM... etc machine.
Therefore, if u have a DELL pc just try to use an OEM XP CD for
installation. If it can install, whether no SP,SP1 or 2 doesn't matter,
it can be upgraded to the latest patches.Last edited by hkivan; 01-28-2008, 11:35 AM.

Re: mobos with japanese caps only
Sometimes, when the prices are down
with the same series of mobo, the jp caps gone & repalced with OST ..etc.
I did see this happening on some Asrock mobo.
e.g. KZG caps are repleced with OST in VRM.
IMO, no need to focus on those use exclusively jp/good caps.
Instead, looking for high end models usually will found 100% solid or jp caps.
U pay what u get .

Re: OST Caps in Power Supplies
BTW, the asrock K8upgrade-NF3 has many OST RLP 6V3 1000uF all over the
slots & NF3 chipset.
weeks ago, I replaced them with sanyo WG 6V3 1000 & Panasonic FL 10V 1000.
The result is my ram could run at 222Mhz ( i.e. DDR444 ) , CL2.5 , 1T command rate. B4, it could only be 220Mhz, CL3 , 2T with 2 DIMMs installed....

Re: My partially-recapped L&C 450W PSU
no EMI filters !!!
thin heatsink !!!
small transformer !!!
450W ???
It just looks like a 200W cheap PSU .
My 250W cheap RMB150 Holely ATX-300P4-PFC is far better than yours.

Re: Whats a good board?
The board comes with 4-pin +12V connector which is solely for CPU VRM.
The majority of P4 mobo use 12V to feed cpu vrm.
Many asrock boards come with small mosfets too. They are just fine and not even warm without heatsink on them. They are low ESR mosfets....
