  • Re: 14 blinks TC-P50ST30

Keep at it, sounds familiar. I bought a multimeter then soldering system but the fix was a new sc card for 60$ from shop jimmy. Will send old one no charge if it will help. The help from this forum is what really fixed my Panasonic. Thanks again.

My daughter in law has being doing battle with Sears and Panasonic on my behalf ( they bought the tv for me). Panasonic did not even return calls but Sears has come through with 300$ in gift cards. This will cover the repairs!
I am so happy to still be able to use my Sears card. Thank you Sears , I will buy some 3d glasses.

  • Re: Acer LCD TV AL2671W

Put the yellow red white rca output from my Shaw hdpvr and fiddled with the buttons and on/off switch and it works! Nice unit but old enough not to have HDMI port. Still has a 449$ price sticker on it.
The remote is missing and the activator is broken or gone from the on/ off switch on the front. Is there any where to buy this kind of thing?...

I saw them at the top on some of the photos on the forum. Mine is rated at 341 watts. I think I will put a couple of muffin fans to assist in bottom to top flow.

Was given this because it was "just the start button" but now I see it has been worked on a lot. Most of the back screws are missing. The card with the on/off button also has the input, volume, channel buttons and it appears that they are momentary switches. When plugged in the leds around the power button illuminate but pressing the button does nothing. Was thinking of inputting my PC to see if the screen even works. Is there a quick test to see if one should just take it to the dump? It looks like a well built unit in it's day.

My tcp50st30 does not have any fans and it was one of the warmest days of the year when it died although my basement is never that hot. Would it be worth attaching a couple of fans on it? Or am I getting too paranoid.?

    started a topic 3D glasses

    3D glasses

Going to get some for my Panasonic TC-P50ST30 before it dies again.
Are the aftermarket glasses ok? Considerably lower $ than brand name.

Done. A bit nerve wracking. Was at 2030 now2220.
Thank you for all the help. My wife thinks I am smart.
Next is a Acer 26 LCD with a broken on off switch.
Asked the local Source store when I was getting the SD cards if ever they have flats screens heading to the dump let me know. He gave me this return along with the original box and manuals just have to phone for the remote today.

I was testing from gnd to the legs on the pins and these were different when compared to the new card but then I had a component on the new card that was to gnd on both legs so I said to heck with it and put it in before I wrecked something.
D642,D481,Q422,Q441 were either one leg to gnd or both as compared to the new card.
Tv good now and bringing the 20 inch back to the dump but I am a bit nervous about my plasma now. Any recommended UPS ?

I really didn't do any thing . Shut it down to read the manual then checked the ribbon cable and the wire type ribbon cables and tried it again and got the Vierra ribbon on the bottom of the screen. First time anything has been visible since the start. Putting the cover on now and have a spare SC Card and some 30 F131 .

Thank you , thank you , thank you, It works.
Had the brightness set to 100% should I lower this for longer life?
The fix was 59usd SC card plus 30usd shipping.
Prefer this picture to televisions in store.
Noticed the tv really puts static into the VHF at 123.2 HZ .
    Now to find another project.
thank you for advising not to plug in repaired card , I think it still needs work.

Checked new SC card against repaired card and found some components that were shorted when compared to new card, so marked them and installed new card.
Still no screen illumination. Goes on and off with the remote now and it did not with original problem. Unplugged and checked for short at vsus SC and OK.

Thank you, I remember doing exercises in school measuring the output of meters so as not to damage stuff and can only remember enough to be afraid.
My new card should be here by Friday then I can compare readings....

Should the meter be on M ohms to test for shorted circuits?
I was just reading another thread repair got me thinking.
I have been using ohm scale.

I think it is fixed. but the other card should be here soon . thank you for your help. I think I will keep my eye out for discarded plat screens.
