Re: Dell E178FPb - white screen
Sorry. I was confident that the SMD fuse was the issue here, and merely skimmed through the preceeding entries looking for something saying that it had already been checked.
I guess I need new eyes...
and a rich girlfriend, and a nice motorcycle, and a good job, and.....
OK, I'll stop now.
Good luck to you!

Re: Acer AL718: It Goes On And Off
And if that doesn't work, check Q153 and Q156 inverter IC's (i think that's what they are labeled as). Check for shorts across one side to the next. I usually just "rake" my red probe down one side of the IC and the black probe up the other side.
In actuality, one side of these IC's is ground (4 pins) and the other side (4 pins) +power. Just leaving the black probe on the ground side, you can touch the other sides' 4 pins with the red probe. Put your meter to the "beep" setting, checking for continuity.

Re: HP pavilion f50
Kidding!
You either have some bad caps...
or a loose LVDS connection to the panel.
or some killer weed.

Re: Dell E178FPb - white screen
In my experience, the white screen is an indication that the panel is not receiving a signal. And this is usually caused by a blown SMD fuse located on the panels PCB, near the input connection. I've even just blobbed some solder over the bad fuse to make the circuit again. This is not politically correct, but neither am I!!!
