    Re: Lg 42lg5010

Hi all, Thought I would post and give everyone the good news. The fault with this TV turned out to be the TCON board. Took the plunge and purchased a second hand one from ebay, fitted and now all is good.
Thought that this might be handy for anyone that may be having or may have in the future, a similar fault.
But once again thanks to all on this forum who have taken the time to help me out.

    Re: Lg 42lg5010

Thanks tom66 for the reply. I have checked the tab bonds, and also both ribbons to the TCON board and I cannot seem to alter the picture in anyway- good or bad.
As an update to my last post, while watching the TV, the sound is okay but for a high pitched almost squealing click for a split second every now and then. Part of me thinks this might be a capacitor discharging but I've visually inspected all the capacitors on the power supply board and these all look to be okay. Is it possible that I may have a faulty main board or TCON board with bad capacitors?...

    Re: Lg 42lg5010

Hi again, I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before, I am told it could be a tab bonding failure but I am unsure if it's this as there are no visible lines down the screen, or if it was the TCON board at fault. I know that TCON boards give varying issues with regards to the display, but I was hoping someone out there could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks.

    Lg 42lg5010

    Hi all,
This is my second posting, with another fault that I would be grateful of any assistance in solving.
I recently picked up an LG 42 inch LCD tv, the backlight is okay, I have checked all voltage outputs from the power supply board, and these all check out okay. There are no bulged capacitors, so the power board appears to be okay.

The problem with this is that the picture on the TV is very poor, there are multiple lines on the screen and the colours are all over the place.
I am hoping that this is not the dreaded ribbon bonding to the screen and that...

Sorry all about my earlier posting, it should read the TCON board and not the LCON board. ( Hanging my head in shame)

  • Samsung LE26A457 Lcon Board.

Help, My Samsung TV suddenly decided to die on me.
After reading some of the posts, it would seem that other members have had the same problem of the dreaded flashing red LED and no picture. I checked and found that the backlight was on, so it would appear that the power board was okay as I could not see any bulged capacitors.
I did however find that the small 2 amp fuse on the Lcon board was blown and also a small inductance was also burnt up.
I purchased an identical board of ebay, and fitted this but on powering up, the very same inductance burnt up on the replacement...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hi all,
I joined up to this site after spending many hours trawling the internet and finding zip in the way of useful advice on repairs to TV's.
