  • Re: Philips Plasma 42" 42pf7320/98 after some time goes of

I just noticed that the TV doesn't actually turn off, the screen just goes blank but the green LED is still solid. When I press buttons on the remote, I know the TV is detecting the action because the green LED blinks as I press the buttons but nothing is displayed on the TV(if I press the volume up or down, the volume bar doesn't show as it normally would). Again, this is fixed by unplugging the TV for a few minutes and plugging it back in. What do you guys think the problem could be?

Anyone know anything about why this might be happening? I have the same issue with my 42PF7320/98. It remains on for a while(random amount of time) before shutting off on its own. I have to unplug the unit for a bit and plug it back in for it to turn on again. Since the time is random and I haven't been around when it shuts off, I haven't been able to see if or how many times the red light blinks afterwards. I've read in another forum that some people fixed this issue by adding a heat sink on top of one of the chips....
