LG 50PJ350 Power Supply issues
Hi guys,
I've got 2 50PJ350 plasma's at the moment both with some sort of power supply fault. The power supply's are part no. EAY60968701 however one is the type with 3 ceramic resistors in the top right, while the other is the model with 2 resistors.
The first of them (3 resistors) has an intermittent problem where sometimes it will turn on fine and other times it will not turn on at all. I've fitted the common repair kit which replaces IC301 and D304 which did not help the issue. I've checked thoroughly for cold solder joints and resoldered all joints on transformers...

Re: LG 50PS70FD Not turning on
My mistake Tom, the vs reading was incorrect. It's in fact 201 which is a little high considering the sticker on the back of panel says 195 for the Vs voltage. Could this be an issue?
I've got the Zsus board out now and will begin to look it over, at first glance nothing appears to be visibly faulty

Re: LG 50PS70FD Not turning on
Quick follow up, I've checked the VS and VA voltages with the zsus unplugged and the voltages appear normal. VS and VA are around 210 and 67

LG 50PS70FD Not turning on
Hi guys,
I've got a LG 50PS70FD here which won't turn on. I first inspected the power supply for bad caps and cold solder joints however all seem to be fine. When the power button is hit the tv clicks begins to power up then a buzz sound comes from the ZSUS board and the it shuts down. I tried unplugging the ZSUS board and the power supply then powers up and stays on. Would this point to a faulty ZSUS board?
Thanks

Re: LG 50PJ350 Mal Discharge
Hey mate, just took a few quick pictures, let me know if there's something in particular you need photos of. On the plus side I've managed to find a replacement board for about $40pp if it comes down to replacing it.

LG 50PJ350 Mal Discharge
Hi there guys, I've got an LG 50pj350 here with what looks like rather bad Mal discharge. Tv was working fine the night before, when turned on the next day the screen flickers bright white at start up then turns on as normal however there seems to bed severe mal discharge (sparkles everywhere).
I read a thread here where someone had the same issue which was solved by replacing the Zsus board so I decided to wing it and replace the zsus however the issue remains. I've tested voltage test points on the power supply, ysus and zsus boards and all appear to read correctly (Va: 60v;...

LG 50PJ350 - Not turning on, clicking noise
Ok guys, I've got an LG 50PJ350 plasma here which has intermittent issues with turning on. At times it will turn on, work fine for a few hours and then after I turn it off and leave it for a few hours it won't turn on again. It makes a clicking sound, the standby light goes off but the screen doesn't come on. It then clicks a few more times and the standby light comes back on.
I ordered and fitted a repair kit which replaced a regulator IC, fuse, diode, 3 capacitors and a couple of resistors (kit here)...

Re: LG 50PJ350 - Horizontal lines through panel
Just an update here, opened it up and sure the top most y buffer ribbon cable wasn't properly secured. Still having issues turning on however I believe it's a power supply issue and a repair kit is on its way.
Thanks very much for the help guys, much appreciated.

LG 50PJ350 - Horizontal lines through panel
Hey guys, I've got an LG 50PJ350 plasma here which has vertical lines running through the top of the screen. It is also experiencing power supply issues and fails to turn on sometimes (clicking noise, apparently a common issue and I have ordered a repair kit) however I would like to know what could be causing this issue before continuing to attempt repairs on this unit.
Here's a picture, thanks in advance for any help.

Re: LG 50PA6500 - Sound no Picture
I'll be doing this ASAP as I don't have a multimeter with me at the moment. Are there are any other points where I should check voltages? Thanks, will report back with voltages when I get the chance to measure them.

Re: LG 50PA6500 - Sound no Picture
Hey guys, didn't want to bump an old thread but this saves me starting a new one. I went ahead and replaced the Y-sustain board and I now have picture and the TV seems to work, however the picture quality is bad. It seems really grainy (unsure of how to describe this) and images tend to linger after being left on screen for a few minutes before fading away (looks like burn in, they seem to go away after a few minutes though). Quite sure it's not related to the video source as it looks the same at the lg splash screen and on all inputs.

Re: LG 50PA6500 - Sound no Picture
Thanks for the help, as the TV is out at my brothers place I'm unable to check these currently but when I get the chance I will do so and report back. If it is the Y-sus board will it simply be a matter of replacing it? Thanks again.

LG 50PA6500 - Sound no Picture
Hey guys, I've got an LG 50PA6500 with sound and no picture. I have taken the back off it at this stage and the boards appear to be in good health. There is however a buzzing sound coming from the y-sustain board when the tv is switched on. I have taken a flashlight to the screen and can't see any images or cracks.
Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.
