OK, I have a multimeter, plug in the board to the AC outlet and measure voltage across the two leads of the large center capacitor in DC, correct?

Optiquest Q22wb - Will Not Power On
I have an Optiquest Q22wb and the power button became unresponsive, so I ordered a kit with all the caps except the large one.
After soldering the new caps into the board I still get no response from the monitor.
There are some large blackspots on the board which makes me think perhaps a different part blew in the monitor, but I really don't know which is why I am posting here. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello, I was referred here buy a business that sell capacitor kits as a place to get more advice on LCD repair. I'm a software programmer by trade and have a very basic understanding of electronics and circuitry (messed with Arduino a bit and have followed plans to make small electronic circuits).
