Hello to everyone, I have an Asus motherboard P5Q rev 1.03G with a smt component near the cpu which blew up. On the surface of an equal componet I can read L3E #817 but I couldn't find anything on google.
I took a photo with a usb microscope to it's brother component
The component is part of the voltage rails that supply energy to the cpu. that's why I could identify the component from the parallel rail.
Please watch the pic and give me some clue.
Thank you so much!...

Re: generic laptop no power on except with adapter pluged in
I think that I wasn't clear on my first comment. This is the problem, I need to plug the adapter to turn on the laptop, then if I want I can unplug the adapter and the laptop still working with the battery charge without problem. But if I turn it off the laptop won't turn on with only the battery, I need to plug the adapter again turn it on and then I can unplug the adapter again and still working with the remaining charge

Re: generic laptop no power on except with adapter pluged in
Thanks for the schematics, I don't understand if the battery is damage or working wrong, why when the laptop turn on and I unplug the adapter the laptop still working?. The failure is similar to the Toshiba laptop A305 series with NEC TOKIN

Re: HP Pavilion ZD 8000 won't turn on
Hello and thank you for your reply, I still have the laptop, the client can wait to find a solution because she wants to use it. I'll check that and comment the results.

generic laptop no power on except with adapter pluged in
Hello to everyone, this is a generic chinese laptop, the motherboard part number is c42IIX Main BD REV.01 / 37GC42200-10
With the charger pluged in the laptop power up and work with total normality, if I unplug the charger with the laptop on it still working with the battery charge for a long time. With the battery totally charged I tried to power it up but the dc adapter unpluged then the laptop won't turn on. I change the battery controller IC OZ8618 but the failure persist. Can someone help me with your wonderful ideas?

Re: Lenovo G505 bios dump needed
forgive my ignorance, how can I diagnose that a BIOS is the cause of the problem? Obiously my request is very generic but what are the general issues that can lead you think about that is the problem and also how to perform a BIOS reflash or KBC reflash. Thank you!!!

Re: How to read and understand schematic diagram.
In my experience about understanding a laptop schematic the core that you need to understand is the electronic array of components, like voltage divider with resistors and what funtion do in a motherboard. step down converters with a PWM and power mosfets in synchronous configuration. Understand that an IC is like other PC inside the motherboard that made an specific funtion and learn how to test it. Understand that some IC power up with an enable signal and learn to trace it back generally to the EC KBC and so on.

Re: asus k50ij dead
I've the same board with the same problem, I solder the test pad JP81113 to power on the PWM U8101 ( RT8206AGQW ) but nothing happens, I've checked the power mosfets that the U8101 controls but are ok. Also I replace the PWM by other compatible ISL6236 but nothing.
I solder the test pad because I don't have the ENBL signal....

HP Pavilion ZD 8000 won't turn on
Hello to everyone, I've an ZD800 that don't detect the charger, the 19v are present in the DC jack. I trace the problem to PQ89 double BJT and PQ25. I need the ACOK signal to turn on the PQ13 N-channel mosfet and then the voltage of gates of the mosfets (P-Channel) PQ15 and PQ16 drops down. I have VAD but not the VIN1.
Thanks to all that can help me to understand this part of the circuit, and sorry if my text have some errors I don't know english properly yet.
I attached the schematic. on the page 31 are the problem
Test that I made at the moment,...Last edited by desktop85; 10-31-2017, 01:21 PM.

Re: Hp g62 video problem
Maybe the graphic ic again. Sometimes I have this kind of problems, the laptop only shows image stable in the BIOS, but if I try to boot Windows, it turn off. Can you try replace the graphic ic?
