Re: HP ZR2440w single edge LED misbehaving
To follow up on this, I was able to narrow down the bad part to the LED strip that runs along the bottom of the Display by swapping the PS + Mainboard between identical monitors. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear the LED strip is available anywhere, so I guess I am out of luck and have to get a new monitor.

Got the monitor disassembled (The front bezel is tool-less and a PITA!), doesn't appear to be any extruding capacitors...

HP ZR2440w single edge LED misbehaving
I've recently started having a part of the bottom of my monitor start to give me backlight issues. Sometimes it works great with no dimmed sections, other times there is a segment (as pictured) that is dim, other times the segment is about twice as long as pictured. It seems to be random, though if I power-cycle the monitor, it will get worse/better randomly. Is this potentially a capacitor issue, or would a capacitor cause different symptoms? Would a faulty LED sometimes fail to power on intermittently?
