  • Re: Samsung T190 Monitor goes off after 10 Mins.

    Hi Jonathan,
finally I manage to solve the thermal problem by replacing Diode 201. at the back of diode, add new thermal paste (white) like those used in the motherboard processor heat sink. Don't need a fan to blow at the monitor now....

    Jhunvidz,
Since I bought the monitor , I have not updated any thing except use it. Actually I'm not too sure what you mean by updating the firmware.
My next move would be to add a addition piece of aluminium to the heat sink (HS202) to help in the heat dissipating process and mount a small 1.5" cooling fan (use for hard disk) over the heat sink.
Just like you, I have changed all the caps except the inverter transformer and has not make any difference. Now that I know its a thermal problem,...

Hi Jonathan, it definitely is a thermal problem. Had a fan blowing at the open up monitor, it was on for more than 30 minutes. Switched off the fan, it cut off after 25mins. By the way I have replaced 10 capacitors in all except one (C205). Also replaced one diode (D101) and a resistor (R31 -330kohms). Has not made any difference.

Attached please find the photo of the power board (front and back)

p/s: Notice that a chip (U2) got very hot as the PCB is dark brown in color. The heat sink...

  • Re: please help me on how to open samsung syncmaster T190

Hi, I am having a similar made and model monitor like jhunvidz and also having the same problem but mine switches on for about 5 to 10 minutes before going black. Changed all 9 capacitors (including the large one) and a diode. Made no difference. Lately found out the 330k resistor has gone high (414k ohms). Replaced resistor and the fault still exist. Will be checking the couple of transistors to see if they are faulty. Will get you posted.

Hi Lexwalker, Thanks for the tip. But the point is if it does happen after blowing it with a hair dryer, it still does not tell you which component is faulty and needs replacement.

  • Samsung T190 Monitor goes off after 10 Mins.

My Samsung T190 Monitor goes black after switching on for about 10 minutes. After shutting it down for 5 minutes, and switch on again, it comes on but goes off again after about 10 mins. Checked the power supply board and all the capacitors seem to be fine (no bulge) but I replaced all of them (9 in all) plus a diode. It made no difference. Same fault still exists.
When screen is black, checked with a torch light shining on the screen, no visible faint image observed.
Any suggestion on the next move is much appreciated.

    Thanks, Jon

  • Re: Samsung SyncMaster T190, pwr led flashing

    Hi Max,
I too had the problem opening up the back cover of my Samsung T190 monitor. Go to Fixya.com and look up a guy by the name Werner Tebelmann. He has given a detail explanation on how to open up the back cover (T190) with photos attached. I managed to open up mine after reading his instructions.
    Hopes this help. Good luck!!
