  • Re: Pioneer Elite PRO505-PU Plasma

I found the adjustment for "VSUS Adj" and slowly moved it untill I got an acceptable picture, looks pretty good.
But it still takes a good 15 minutes to warm up to a full rastor.
They didn't label much in the way of test points on this set.
Either a supply is taking a long to ramp up or some kind of blanking/timing issue untill warmed up.
Or is it just that the tube is worn out and it will take longer and longer to come to full rastor before it fades out?

Thanks for the Info Tom, I am attaching the UG and SM.
There are 2 caps on the PWR supply Large Nichion 330 Uf 450 Volt CE 105 degree , part of switching PS, that seem possibly slighty Pooched, But the power supply comes up immediately with the 380 volts and stays there, can,t find anything so far causing the long screen rendering delay of 15 mins....

  • Pioneer Elite PRO505-PU Plasma

Just happened on this thing , it is a 2 piece setup with a reciever like piece where the cable and or inputs are made then proprietary cables X2 to the display.

On Initial turn on it has great sound but no pix,, After about 15 minutes a pixture begins to sho up at the top and bottom of the screen.
About 60 mm band zcross top and bottom, as the set warms up this will eventually expand to full screen eventually gets a so so picture.
Not sure how to describe the warmed up picture, so I will include a picture.
Found both Users Guide and a very basic service manual...

  • Re: Samsung PS50Q7 Plasma, pico fuse blown.

I had a similar issue with a 42 inch, replaced the 1 amp pico fuse and it blew again, ohmed both sides of the fuse to ground and found one side at about 20 to 40 ohms.Disconnected the cabeling to the board on the right and the short went away, followed the wiring and found eventually a protection smd chip had shorted, (8 pin if I remember right). I lifted the pin on it to prove the theory, checked on parts and found a replacement board cheaper than the parts. Replaced the board and it came back to life.Hope this helps.

    Good...

This power Board must be a high failure item, not many around, found board from samsung for 125 plus freight, found chip from dubious korean source.
Think I,ll sit on this one a bit and see if parts become more available.

They wanted 10 bucks for the chip and 25 day lead time???

    None at mouser or digikey.

  • Re: Samsung UN55C6300SFXZA won,t power up

Well, it ran about two hours, then heard a pretty loud pop and it went off.
Checking it out I found on the power board (BN44-0358B) that Q9201 , Q9204 and IC9201 all associated with LED dimming were bad. Already had the FQU5N40 Jfets so i replaced Q9201 snd Q9204. I can,t find a source for the chip except across the big pond, S Korea or China. ( SELC2010M, BD31L1GP, Map3201) Schematic calls out MAP3201

I am wondering now if something is amiss with the LED panels associated with Pins 5,6,7,8 arcing internally or to the...

Replace the jfet and it,s back with the living.
I,ll burn in in for a while and hope it,s a done er.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

Is a complete picture frame loaded and then strobed/sustained by the Ysus at a time or is each Line loaded and strobed in sequence, top To bottom?

I know you guys and Gals don,t have a magic wand and I appreciate all the input, I have actually learned quite a bit but barely scratched the surface.

Actually considering raiding my main, the P50HDTV20 to try and make sense out of this 10. Not really thinking thats a wise move, most boards won,t be compatable, except maybe the one I already relaced.

    Might...

No just the logic the one between the inputs and the lower buffers and also drives the Ysus. Kind of like the tconn maybe on an lcd.

Got a replacement EBR35959201 Control_256_Ch no joy, same problem.
Only getting the very top line of the screen. Back to the drawing board on this one.

  • Re: Samsung UN55C6300SFXZA won,t power up

I think I may have found the problem. Since 12 volt and 18 volt (Vdrv) would not come up when I fed the board pwr up from stby, I took a look at the impedance from the rectifiers for each supply to chassis ground, I found Vdrv at 54 Ohms. Seemed kind of low so I started backtracking through all the Ckts that Vdrv feeds and found where it seemed to originate.

Removed Q9101 and mesured 21 ohms source to drain both polaritys. Found a source for the parts and will order a bakers dozen monday. Will probably replace Q9102 as well...

  • Re: Samsung UN55C6300SFXZA won,t power up

I have the part numbers off all my boards I just was confused with "3066R" and "semi empty".

I,m trying to guess wehther the PS is failed or the logic/main board.
The main on this one is a little pricey. So I don,t want to add it to my collection un necessarily.

But may wind up doing just that.
These power supplys are a B#@$%! to trouble shoot.

Most switchers I just check all the actives and resistors and replavce the caps and they will go but these things are...

  • Re: Samsung UN55C6300SFXZA won,t power up

Pulled pin 18 out of connector and applied stby through a resistor to it.
Pwr on/off then measured about 2.25 volts and relay stays engaged.
However the plus 12 volts and plus 18 V amp do not come up. They pulse up to about 8 volts and come right back down.

The chips that do the open, short,OVP and over current protection are on the bottom of the board and use the P Gnd which is approx -60 volts.

I have checked all the components FETS Transisters , large resistors and can,t find a fault.

I searched Ebay for Samsung main board nothing with (3066R) in it?
Is it a BNxx-XXXXX part number?
