Re: Vizio M550SV No Power/Lightning Strike
Well I am at a loss because I do not know if each cap is supposed to individually have 160vDC or if two caps combined are supposed to have 160vDC.

Re: Vizio M550SV No Power/Lightning Strike
With mainboard disconnected I get 82vDC on each leg with mainboard disconnected for a total of 164vDC.Last edited by gideon277; 02-05-2015, 05:57 PM.

Re: Vizio M550SV No Power/Lightning Strike
Okay on my auto sensing volt meter I get 326vDC on each of the caps. My meter is autosensing.

Re: Vizio M550SV No Power/Lightning Strike
I keep the black probe on the ground wire that goes to the chassis by the main power plugin. There are two caps side by side which cap are you referring to? At any rate on the right leg of each of those caps I get the same reading for 67.1Last edited by gideon277; 02-04-2015, 11:08 AM.

Re: Vizio M550SV No Power/Lightning Strike
Continuity on both of the fuses checks out as good. I am getting 6 volts on in of DC fuse the one by the power connector. This is when the set is plugged in. Of course when power is pressed absolutely nothing happens. All standby numbers look fine.

Vizio M550SV No Power/Lightning Strike
This tv only has two boards the Power Supply and the Control or Mainboard. (My volt meter died so will be testing voltages later) I did conduct a thorough visual examinations of the boards and they appear to be fine. I checked continuity on all fuses and they tested good. The Vizio LOGO on the front of the television does not come on while plugged in which suggests to me no stand by power....

Re: Vizio M550NV - Flashing Logo Stuck at Startup Screen
I ended up replacing the power supply but it did not resolve the issue. No change in the problem now I wonder did I purchase an equally defective power supply or could it in fact be the mainboard. This has been the most stubborn tv to day as just about everything checks fine on the thing. grrr.

Re: Vizio M550NV - Flashing Logo Stuck at Startup Screen
Thank you and through some testing I have come back to the power supply with a few issues. I think there may be more than one failure on this television possible voltage regulators so until I get the time to chase all of that down. I guess I am in a holding pattern.

Vizio M550NV - Flashing Logo Stuck at Startup Screen
Okay folks I know there have been a few on this t.v before and believe me I have read them. I have already inspected caps and there do not seem to be any bulging at all. Here is what happens. I plug the television in the logo does the white / orange flash for an extended period of time. Then I am able to power the tv on and I get the Vizio startup screen (Non-responsive) to anything and then it powers itself down and backon again in an endless loop unless I unplug. Of course here are the pictures.

Vizio VX37L. Grey tint to picture
Whole screen is tinted grey evenly. Makes no difference how long TV is on. I am thinking bad cap or SM. What say you?

Re: Vizio P50 HDTV20A
The menu looks great and just as a follow up there are two of those resistor style fuses in addition to the standard glass fuse on the xmain. The one that failed was the small resistor fuse located directly next to the glass fuse. I am watching Netflix on the t.v picture looks great and already have a buyer lined up.
