thanks for your reply, the diode checked out fine. i forgot to mention that this was for two weeks an intermittent fault, but by unplugging the power cord and reconnecting would solve this. iv checked for dry joints, but seems fine.

hello people, wondering if you could help me with this monitor (dell e173fpf) the monitor appears to be stuck in standby by ie the screen wont come on and the yellow led on, pressing the front buttons does nothing at all so i pulled the unit apart and fired it up again but with the same results. when i looked at the led on the power button board i found that both the green and yellow led was on together? im sure it should be just green for on and just yellow for standby? nothing looks burnt and caps look fine. any ideas? thanks gary
