Re: LG model 32LD350 weird problem
I'm not in my shop right now, but I know the old set's service code number is 32ld350-ub.cuswlh. (manf date may-2010) Not sure that I saved the other set's back, front and screen plastic parts. I will try to post the barcode labels of the boards later.
thanx...

Re: Vizio L32 green & amber that's it.
dig through the forums and locate the post about testing cfl's, some real good info in there.

Re: Vizio L32 green & amber that's it.
That sounds like the very first set I fixed which had the "2 seconds to black" problem.
It was a broke cfl tube in the backlight.....

LG model 32LD350 weird problem
Hey guys,
I recently purchased an LG 32 inch tv with a bad screen for 20 bucks. It had a bad lcd, but that did not bother me because I had another one in the shop that was brain-dead.
The one that I bought worked fine except for the screen which had streaks across it horizontally near the top, I assume data lines broken or something. I took the other set apart and got a real surprise. The main boards looked identical, but the power supplies were totally
different. The one I bought seems to be a combo power supply and back light inverter, where as the one I had already had...

Re: Samsung 50 inch plasma keeps blowing a fuse
Hey Guys,
thanx for the input. I had totally forgot what a crappy fuse holder would do in a high current situation. It's a wonder it did not catch on fire or something.
Do any of you guys know if they ever ran fans on these older plasma tv's?
I used to repair tv's back when they were REALLY TOUGH (and HEAVY too!) now that I am getting older and not so muscle bound, it's nice to pick up a set and it only takes a small effort to lift it.
I went and looked up the info on Toms link to his database,...

Samsung 50 inch plasma keeps blowing a fuse
Hi guys,
I picked up a 50 inch plasma tv at the local goodwill store for a couple of bucks about 2 months ago. the guys there were using it for a table, and I guess I just felt sorry for them or something, because I really did not want it. The finally talked me into buying it for a couple of dollars, and I added it to my growing collection of dead/sick flat-screens.
It should have been a give away that the tv came with a package of 3 fuses taped to the back of it, that something major was wrong with it.
I took it apart, and found that the main line fuse (fe802) which...

Re: Insignia TV-DVD : Model NS-LDVD26Q-10A screen problems
Hi Tom,
I have attached photos of the inverter, power supply, main board, and an over-all picture of the tv. I can't find any label on the screen, the inverter board is a samsung ss1260-4ua01, the mainboard is labeled dtv32(dams)m-9000,(there is a label on the tuner cover marked samsung dtvs205pl201a), the power supply is labeled mpo2008 rev1.6 I haven't diss-asembled it yet. Still looking for a schematic, but it seems the problem is going to be a driver chip on the screen itself. I turned it on again this afternoon,...

Insignia TV-DVD : Model NS-LDVD26Q-10A screen problems
Hi guys,
I just bought this tv set from a friend who said it had a funny looking picture. I got it home, and plugged it in, and noticed at once that the screen has a problem. The top 4 inches of the screen look ok, but the rest of it is blurred and discolored, kinda looks like on old projection screen would if the convergence was WAY off. sort of. I think it has a shorted chip somewhere. I put a dvd in the drive and it has a blue background on the first few minutes of the movie, and the problem area is a light green from the 4 inch point down, and any movement in this area looks "shaky"...

Re: Insignia NS-32LCD voltage reading 12vdc
yea, you are absolutely correct, and I normally won't even do that. I should have read the entire post and looked at the pics a little closer. (pico fuse)... not a plug in :-) I still dont like the results that shorting it out can deliver. WOW, tv's sure are different now, I haven't worked on them since the late 80's. I am having to learn a lot about the circuitry, and how everything interfaces together. They are just about a computer with a large screen now.

Re: Insignia NS-32LCD voltage reading 12vdc
HEY, KEVIN,.. I was just reading your post here, and noticed you "shorted out" the fuse, now I am not trying to be a know it all, but what I normally do in a case where I don't have the correct fuse is to take the fuse out of the board and wrap a single piece of my smallest solder (tiny stuff) around the end, then across the fuse in a small loop, then wrap around the other end and plug it back in. I only do this in extremely rare cases, and only after checking the circuitry around and associated with the...
