  • Re: KENTEK KTPS-1050 IC Unrecognizable 110V on 220V Blown

Thank you for that!. A quick google search show NOTHING, only one result with a ghost datasheet.

The total cost of the psu: $32.99 + $24.99 of shipping.
Only the pair of W15NB50 is $13...

I think repair thereof will exceed or match the price of the same unit new,
so I start taking as a possibility reuse the secondary caps of this unit to replace the defective in a TACENS SUPERO 500...

Is a shame, although the components are cheap, it is a very nice...

  • KENTEK KTPS-1050 IC Unrecognizable 110V on 220V Blown

I'm Santiago a 23 year old electronic technician and system administrator from buenos aires argentina.

Recently bought a brand new KENTEK KTPS-1050 psu from the usa and came set in 110v and here have 220v current, my brother just connect it and guess what? haha
So, since the shipping fee is the same value as the psu I open it to see what its going on.

I found visible damage on the primary stage, a blown IC who cant identify, a few fuse resistors also blown who will replace for 10ohm or lower ones, a diode break just in the middle, and only one VISIBLE 820uf/200v...

I'm Santiago a 23 year old electronic technician and system administrator from buenos aires argentina.
Recently I bought a brand new one atx psu from usa and came in 110v rate and my country had 220v... guess what? haha
I read a lot of valuable information here but it's time to try to get help and leave knowledge to help other people since seems its null the information in the internet about this psu.
It's a great community for the little time in it!

    Greeting,
    Santiago.
