Re: Did I ruin this board?
Sparkey, I finally got a 60w iron and I want to attempt to fix this problem. How will I know if I'm actually able to do it or not.
Although it doesn't sound like it, I'm not a total dolt, I do have the ability to pull it off but this is a new area for me. If I can learn how to work on these things properly, I'll enjoy the challenge of trying another one....

Re: Did I ruin this board?
Sorry Tom, and thanks for the reply. I thought I had all of them pictured. As soon as I get home this evening I'll shoot a new picture.
Two questions in the meantime...Are there any other pictures I can provide? From the looks of things, and in your professional opinion, should I be attempting this at all or should I just stick to pipefitting?!...

Did I ruin this board?
Hello,
I'm currently dealing with exact same TV, components, and issues as the one in the thread titled, "Samsung 50" Plasma, No Picture or sound". I'm OBVIOUSLY an amateur when it comes to de-soldering components. In attempting to remove the MOSFETS from this board I also managed to remove the small copper ring at a couple of the solder points. Take a look at the pictures and tell me if I have ruined the board or can it still be saved.
Thanks in advance, any input is greatly appreciated....

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello, My name is Bryan. I'm new to the site but have found helpful information here. I'm a do-it-yourselfer and know just enough about this stuff to make me dangerous, so I need all the help I can get!! I like getting non working things and make them work again, and TV's seem to be my toughest venture yet. I currently have a situation to post about and hope I will be welcomed and granted permission to participate.
Thanks for reading,
Bryan
