    What is an isolation washer? There was a thin plastic piece for the power transistor that I didn't see before - with some white cream on it.

    Thanks for the quick reply. Here is the top and bottom circuit board straight on.

    The little white wires go to a power transistor.
    Good idea I will check closely with a magnifying glass.

    I do have a multimeter. What should I check with it?
    I know how to check resistors and diodes. Not sure about testing capacitors - I'll read up on that in the forum....

    I have a Squire Amplifier (model BP-15) that I wanted to repair. It was working fine, but the input jack was stripped. So I ordered a replacement without a stripped mount. I unsoldered bad one and soldered the new one on. Problem was the volume pot broke off in the process so I had to replace that too. Now I have replaced both parts, but when I plugged it in the first time, the light went on, i heard a pop, and the light went out. Now nothing happens when I click it on.

    I'm a newbie so I appreciate any help with troubleshooting this.

    Greetings fellow badcaps forum members.

    I am new here. I used to love going to "The Shack" way back in '78 - when it was called Radio Shack. Now I live in the Detroit Area and work in the computer field. I joined to get some help with a flicker in my 5 year old 24" I-inc monitor. I'll be uploading the photos soon.
