  • Re: Dell 2407WFPb Monitor - Bad Cap

Thanks everyone for your help. I have been able to restore my wives monitor.

    I have replaced the following:

    R670 0.22ohm Farnell 1903854 (10)
    C605 120uF/450V Farnell 1828683
    IC651 L6561D Farnell 9882464
    IC601 NCP1200D Farnell 1652430
    Q651 STP10NK60ZFP Farnell 9935517
    ZD601 15V 0.5W (diode) Farnell 1469418
Fuse holder and Fuse Farnell 1162740 and 1354592

I hope it will keep going for a while. I will also replace the big cap in my own 2407, just in case.

Can anyone tell me how IC651 is supposed to be oriented on the board? Attached is the picture of my replacement part and also the way that I'm holding the board. Thanks in advance!...

I'm trying to source the parts I hope are damaged. I'm having a hard time finding the Q651 and the big cap (120UF 450V) in stores around Schiphol, the Netherlands. I have looked in this thread where Farnell and Digi-Key are mentioned. Digi-Key wants 18 euro (more than $20) for shipping and Farnell won't ship to consumers.

Any descent online suppliers? I'm willing to pay something but 18 euro is a bit steep for a 2 euro component I think.

Last week my wives Dell 2407WFBp went boom. I opened the monitor and found that the power board showed some damage. Attached is a picture. Visually the big CAP shows damage and the R670 is damaged. I have found your nice forum and I am looking for a bit of help.

From what I have read there are two ways to proceed. The first is to try to replace a number of components and the second seem to be to use the speaker port for power. I haven't found many posts that where successful with replacing parts. What is your advice for me? Should...
