Re: Using Samsung Backlight as lighting
man, need new eyes
pinout is on the pcb of course
but not helping much of course
i get 3.2v out of ana-dim and 3.1 pwm-blu
so, if these are outputted from the powersupply TO the mainboard ..yet the mainboard regulates the brightness through software ?! but the header for the backlight is on the powersupply ?!
short pwm_blu or ana_dim to ground (through potentiometer) or what ?
i don´t understand how it regulates the current here

Re: Using Samsung Backlight as lighting
Well, since i can´t find a diagram or schematics ...
There might be a pin ANA-DIM
edit- attached picture is from a different model, pinout does not match mine, i get 13v on pin 2,3,4,5 pin6=0.4-0.5v only 11 and 12 seem to be ground, rest gives 3.2 3.3 and 5...Last edited by bokkie; 04-14-2022, 01:54 PM.

Using Samsung Backlight as lighting
Got a Samsung UE49MU62220, powersupply = BN44-00807H
The screen is broken, not the problem though.
I want to use the unit for lighting.
Without mainboard, so called "Forced Backlight" functions fine ... only ..it's full on.
I would like to be able to dim the "unit"
Unfortunately i can not find schematics/diagram of how the leds are driven, only some snippets here and there since it seems somewhat same for several designs from Samsung.
BLU_PWM on CNM803 from the mainboard seems to be the signal that does this ..but how...

Re: HP ZR2440W displays 'something'
forgot to mention, the white(-ish) background is when signal/input is present
no incoming = black background ..
I'll try to read up on digital signal pathway .. if i can find the time (and willingness)
there is a reason that thing was shelved for months
i understand no-one here has a crystall ball (hell, mine is broken too most of the time) ..just looking for pointers (or disproving of my thoughts) if anyone kinda recognizes the symptoms or has more knowledge ..
yes petehall347, something in...Last edited by bokkie; 11-18-2021, 07:34 PM.

Re: HP ZR2440W displays 'something'
sooooo ... decided to dig out the shelf-project again
all caps are measured and ok
seeing that it does display the correct placement of the supposed menu and if i get into the menu one can even guess what line it's at
i'd guess the T-con is ok and the problem is on the mainboard
it tries to display both menu and input but only 'garbage' pixel-info exits the board.
can't find a servicemanual and digital is a bit out of my league ..
any pointers as to how and where to look are appreciated...

HP ZR2440W displays 'something'
Backlight seems ok
12v measures 11.8v
5v measures 5.17v
place of the "menu" is correct but not showing menu, just garbage "pixels" (ascii "art")
if input is present, video is also same kind of ascii garbage
could use some pointers in what direction to look further
-have not yet de-soldered that ton of caps on the mainboard
-checked the memory bga (broken contacts)...

Re: Tagan TG480-u01
under load 12v is fine (12.14)
so working again
only the fan-mod resides, should be the 3.3k ohm i guess ?!

Re: Tagan TG480-u01
weird, 5v and 3.3 are perfectly fine
on the 12v line, i only get 11v at no load, with a 1A fan it even drops to about 10.9v
this psu i so da*n crowded, hard to follow the rail.
does anyone have diagrams/schematics for this "topower" design?

Re: Tagan TG480-u01
made a sort of diagram of the fan controller
left you can see the 3 fan headers and on top is the input going through 470 and 560 and so on...Last edited by bokkie; 05-28-2013, 12:47 PM.

Re: Tagan TG480-u01
found some bu508a, higher voltage lower amperage thou
put them in just for testing and running fine
anyone have an idea thou how to mod the fancontrolboard for higher speed ?

Tagan TG480-u01
Tagan TG480-u01 PSU worked fine for years in my wife's pc.
Her videocard had problems so i baked it, worked great for months.
Problems came back, backed it again and fine for months again ...
now i baked it for the third time ....
PC wouldn't start.
measured the videocard's resistance between ground and 12v (pci-e 6pin)
low ohm (?150? can't remember)
so last bake wasn't that good of an idea
anyhow...
psu 5vsb is present (purple wire), 5v switch is present (green wire) and pulls low on power-on
but nothing...
