Re: Sony KDL-32L504 No Power ....Dead
I got several resistors from work that you suggested. I put the 4.7 Ohms 1 W across the 3.3v Power Supply, the voltage was still there so it looks as if the Power Supply is good. Here is something I had not done and should have tried a while back. I checked the 3.3v Power Supply pin 3 I think to ground and got 8 K Ohms, that looked good, I did the same with the Main Board and and got .6 Ohms. So it looks as if the Main Board is shorted and without having a test set to plug it into it is almost impossible to find it. So I think I need to start...

Re: Sony KDL-32L504 No Power ....Dead
Thanks for good advise, my mom just called and said her Phillips TV is on the blink. When you turn it on it comes on for a second or two then goes off. I have replaced all the capacitors on the Power Board on this set a couple of years ago. Once I get it I will have the model # and maybe you could direct me where and what to look at? Once again thank you for all your help.
Stan

Re: Sony KDL-32L504 No Power ....Dead
ok, performed the check you suggested, I got nothing so I started unpluging plugs on the main board and still got nothing. One thing I did notice is that when I unplugged all the plugs from the main board I found that that the 3.3 volts from the power board was gone so I unplugged the main board again and checked just the power board and it was there. Plugged in the main board and it went away on got like .06 VDC. Does this look like a bad main board? I how can be sure the power board is working? Sorry for all the questions but any help is appriciated....

Re: Sony KDL-32L504 No Power ....Dead
I have the same TV with the same problem, only I don't hear a click when I turn the TV on. I did a couple of measurements and got 3 volts going to the controller board but that is all I have done so far. what did you actually find out the problem was? I am going to trouble shoot the Power Board doing what you did and hope to find something.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all, I finally got in. Let me start by saying thanks for allowing me to join your forum, I am not much on these as this is the only one I belong to. My name is Stan and I live in North Carolina near the Outer Banks. I work in Virginia which is about 40 mile commute everyday where I work for a contractor. I like fixing Tv's and old Tuners, mainly Pioneers from the 70's. I found some interesting things here and hope to get good advise as I am only an amature when it comes to repairing electronics. I do however know how to use...
