FIXED!!!
The inverter board is integrated into the power board. I confirmed that with multiple sources.
Took a while to get into it. One of the mounting screws were stripped. I forgot to take pictures. But as stated, there are only two boards in the TV. No visible signs of failure. Caps looked fine.
I did find what caused the input failure. CHEAP HDMI cables. They are apparently well known for causing these problems. That and hot swapping them. Certainly will not repeat that mistake!...

Vizio VL470M inputs went out, then screen went black
Vizio VL470M, serial LUKEHBK3800140, bought in March 2010.
Long story short, can a main board failure cause the back light screen not to light, or am I looking at the power board as well? I KNOW the main board was failing.
Details...
We had a power surge mess it up in August 2010. It would power on, but HDMI 1 was dead and it randomly responded by remote. But all rest was fine and it still responded to the side buttons.
The power and main boards were replaced under warranty. The power board was fine, but they replaced it anyways. I watched...Last edited by dgenem; 05-21-2013, 11:03 PM.
