In capacitors there are basically 3-4 main points that u have to see to get a matching one for the motherboard and then the brand name (i prefer rubycon or nichicon). but what do i have to see in mosfets ...i mean there are like 10-15 stuff written on the datasheet......totally confusing .....

just need a replacement for nikos p0903bdg but i dont know what to look when searching........

nothing of the sort was a simple system asus motherboard with pentium d and hdd with 512 mb ddr1 ram

no idea about processor or ram cause he said its working.....(atleast thats what the shop tecnician said ...) so he put them on auctioning....

I guess only the board was hit ........

he said his hdd has started clicking on the new board and is planning tosell and buy a new one..And for optical drive he doesn't have any....(says it doesnt last for him cause he ends up raping them....(3years= 3optical drives gone bad)...

Help..how do i identify mosfets of similar rating etc

I got a friends motherboard and it seems to have 4 mosfets blown up...

now i know the caps are good cause i changed them a month ago (after fixing my board based on tutorials and help from here..^_^ ).

it worked fine he said till they had a blackout and then boom the board is gone again. he gave it back to me saying i got a new one and now i really want to fix it...

problem is i have no idea how to deal with mosfets let alone knowing what to see when u want to buy replacement.

hi ...i'm back

my board is working fine now but now my friend who has a similar board and problem is asking me to fix his old board too. HIs board model is similar to mine just its M2N68 AM SE2 (Mine was M2N68 AM PLUS)

What i noticed was that his caps were all the famous KZG series 15 in total of 820uf 6.3 v ones. i desoldered them all of the board and found that all caps look fine but were actually leaked from the bottom.

the other caps on the board were 2 1500uf 6.3v caps near eatxpwr connection...

[LEFT]Ok first of thanks everyone for helping and yaa i didn't turn of my pc till i fixed that over voltage issue

i went out for a while then returned on the 1st of june. i started working on my motherboard again with
the new ZLH series i got from RSdelivers and removed the temporary ones(image below).

this is one of the old busted cap 1 of the many 16 caps. i don't know what make it is(only written TK)

Also as i said id try using this pc with the temperory (local)caps to see the effect and i noticed that the cpu and other hard ware component's temperature is peaking...i.e. 65c for GFX card(normally doesnt happen) 70c for processor and hdd touching58-62....
also if i leave my cpu without any load that is do nothing the temp drops cpu= 52, gfx= 54 and hdd=51c..

one more thing i noticed after leaving it without doing anything for an hour was that the cpu dedicated rail of 12v (aka..ATX 12v or P4 cable) started becoming...

the first one is a whole sale site selling packs of 100s 1000s

and the second one is charging 8$ for 16 nichicons but shipping =40$
40$+10$= new motherboard

the contact address u mentioned i'll try it out tomorrow during the day working hours...ist time
and ask it they have stock there...

Hi forum members, I landed on this forum when I was searching for my solutioons to my motherboard issues and got a great deal of info from here. specially it solved my issue and made me aware of how lethal Bad capacitors can be.

I am hoping to gain a lot of experience from u guys and a lot of advice related to PC repair and maintenance (which was just limited to PC assembly only before and now jumped to board repairing...)...^_^
